Although the record did improve, I still did not see progress in the myriad of coaching decisions that were constantly questioned in virtually every game through out the season; players did not appear to evolve, improve or elevate their games; player confidence levels were always very tentative; and the offensive philosophy that has apparently been adopted did not mesh with the strengths or skill level of the roster. I still do not see a clear game plan or direction for the program.
I still believe Orsini is committed to his original understanding with Doh that he has 5 years to show good progress; however, Orsini must really be doubting himself at this time. The current spin is to be expected and necessary to protect recruiting and the program which cannot really afford any more set backs. I have previously posted that the real hard and critical decisions will be made at this time next year. Those will be dependent on next years record, whether or not any of this year's recruits actually make it into school and make considerable contributions to the team and whether or not any November signings appear to be of the calibur to up grade the talent level.
