If I recall UALR ran you out of your own gym....A guy who could barely get off our bench was your 3rd best player....And I like Mangrum and am glad he went somewhere where he could get some real minutes......Due to injury he would have been able to play a little more for us this past season....But he was about the 10th best player for us....So you do the math...
Mangrum never played for you guys b/c of nagging injuries, not b/c he was a 10th man coming into this year. Stop running your mouth, cause no one in the country takes your roster over ours moving forward, no one. Hell, we ran off Cam Spencer for sucking, and he's been a pretty vital cog of yours for years, even before his injury. He wasn't even our 10th man on bad teams

However, my excitement really stretches beyond personal interest. Basketball is an easier sport to obtain critical mass for schools with smaller student populations and alumni (i.e., Duke, Wake, etc.). Granted football is king in Texas, but there's no reason SMU basketball can't share the same status as Memphis (perhaps even better).
Do you think there is any push to update Cameron on the Duke campus. It is a classic stadium and the fans love that old building for the atmosphere it creates. Winning cures all matters. Moody would be full if there were a winning team and tradition.

They updated several things inside Cameron within the last year or two. New and/or repainted seats, new video and LED features along the sidelines, some minor seating configuration, and a new scoreboard about 3 years ago.
The signage within the concourses with glassed in tributes to past players is nice also; something similar would look good in Moody, in place of the dusty or empty trophy cases.

Wasn't Cameron "updated" a few years ago? Seems like I heard about a few renovations. Could be wrong, though.

And so you're thinking Mitchell will be eligible?
Actually Mangrum was healthy and did play his junior year. He didn't get many minutes until someone decided to transfer and our 6th man was lost for the season. He simply wasn't good enough. And "vital cog" Spencer played all of 8 minutes a game ranking 10th on the team in minutes per game. It sure is fun making you look like a moron. Keep that wrong information coming! And anybody in their right mind would take Tony Mitchell over your entire team.
Healthy is relative, ask the kid. I have. He was never full strength at NTSU. If Spencer was in your two deep as a big, that's a vital cog. Notice I didn't say 'star'. He wasn't good enough to even do that at SMU, so kudos to him for getting 8 more minutes a game at North Texas, than he would have at SMU.
LOL at taking Tony mitchell over SMU's whole team. There are 2.5 kids on UNTs entire roster good enough to even get an SMU offer at this point, Mitchell & Williams. I like Jones too, but we had our chance to recruit him and didn't. That's your reality. Meanwhile, here you are, lurking the SMU boards, originally to gloat about Franklin, a kid we told 'hell no', lol.

Actually it means he is lurking 3 times as much on my board as I am on his. In fact the only reason I began to post here was because of him coming to our board making outrageous claims about a team that has won an average of 13 games over the last 5 years. Baseless claims and backhanded comments are Hoopmanx's specialty. Win some games or shut up dude. Nobody at GMG cares how many years in a row you can go without winning a game in your conference tournament and how many division 2 & 3 schools you can beat in a season.
Apparently you do, otherwise why would you know

lol, I don't lurk, I post. Gmg is pretty friendly, and I can't think of one outragious claim i've made over there. I generally show respect for your program, think your head coach does a good job, and has a good class coming in. I wished you well in the SBC Championship game, and never drive-by, throw salt, or even spew hate. That's your schtick here, but it seems like the way you're perceived there as well. I don't backhand compliment, I tell you what I know, which isn't what you want to hear. Days before Franklin committed to UNT, I told them SMU said no to Franklin. I like Franklin personally, but understand why he doesn't fit in the princeton. If my congratulating them on Franklin, after he verballed to them was perceived as backhanded, whatever. Also, having tony mitchell on your roster is lol funny. That said, I really like jones & williams etc. Accomplishments accrued vs SBC competition doesn't count. Next argument. A fantastic reason to get rid of the automatic bid in NCAA hoops.

Mangrum was hurt his whole career at North Texas. He had 15 against Memphis, ok, enough said. JJ is from LSU where graduation rate was horrible and NCAA was always in investigating. You know why now he can't move to a higher level. Who will touch him. You might see in the end when the NCAA comes in. A healthy Mangrum would have put up big numbers at North Texas plus a system where they run screens for shooters such as him. Stay off our board. Harry Callahan
