Aaron Dotson, 6'4 guard, leaving LSU. Many may remember he was recruited heavily by SMU.
Jason Carter, 6'8, leaving Alabama. He was a teammate of Leslee Smith in Christian Life.
Dotson was called the "crown jewel" of Trent Johnson's first class. Some more on Carter from the Alabama paper when he committed: Carter, who's listed at 6-foot-8, 220 pounds, is rated as a three-star player and the nation's 107th-best prospect, according to Rivals. A native of New Orleans, Carter wound up in Texas as a result of Hurricane Katrina. He averaged 16 points per game as a senior at Christian Life Center Academy.

Carter can't read which was a problem first time around lol. Dotson is interesting.

His mom has health issues so returning to the Seattle area may be the ticket.

Good call, although the bloom is slightly off Cam Dollar for a minute. His team underperformed a bit this year. He's still drawing good talent, but like the Jacksonville coach, he's in line to move up soon. I'm just not sure how far. Maybe a WCC job? FWIW, I think his brother is on th new staff at Ga Tech. I could easily see Dotson wantng to head home. Baton Rouge had to be culture shock. edit: didn't see Papa's reference to sick family. I'd imagine Dotson and Clarence Trent could do some damage for Seattle

"handwriting on the wall" or Doherty "drew him a picture". Scholarships-rightfully or wrongfully, are 1 year contracts. I'd be surprised if Doherty did not know exactly who was getting this scholarship this late in the recruiting season. Room was likely made to accomodate the prospect.

To be fair, this wasnt a force out, and weve had our share of those. Justin has had his chances, lots of burn, many start, and just never took advantage. His minutes tell the tale. Yes, they do know where the ship is going, barring something falls through

A friend called me at work today and said rivals is claiming a starter is transferring. He said he cancelled his account, and I told him I don't have one and never will. But I started to think about starters. Dia, Walker and Mangrum are graduating. Can't see Nyakundi leaving before his fifth season. But Haynes? He started 13 of 35 games. Only Clinkscales (5) and Harp (9) started fewer games. But anything in the interest of stirring up subscriptions, right?
Selfishly, I hope this rumor isn't true ... I like to see players that start as Mustangs leave with an SMU degree in hand. But if it is true that Haynes is leaving, I wish him all the best, wherever he ends up.

Well, enjoy the dark ages and reading the DMN, which will be about 2-3 days behind the story.

And what does having this information three days early buy you?

don't be naive, the services are a necessary part on recruiting, and new media is here to stay. You either support them and help the programs, or expect free info, watch them dissapear, and w/it a substantial amount of trail buzz they generate. Believe me, the staffs are ecstatic we finally have a reputable service at rivals.

For one, you get the information first. You're paying about $10 per month -- that's like grabbing yourself a McDonald's meal deal -- and then you're house is not filled with the clutter of the newspaper that you''ll either throw in a recycling bin, line a birdcage or wrap Christmas ornaments in. Go look at Belo's stock price and you tell me how that's working out. I decided to get on to Rivals about 2-3 months ago and haven't regretted it.
