can you explain the switch to the princeton being a sunk cost? Me confused

Well, I could just being a dumbarse, but if my history is correct SMU went to the Princeton two years ago. If SMU stays in CUSA, I think it's a good call (though, I would hope they modified it to be more "Princeton in theory" like G-town...). Doh gets better talent, and the Princeton allows them to supersize the talent. They "committed" to the system and started getting players that fit the system.

Well, now the Big East is here. I'm not saying that the Princeton is necessarily bad, but what SMU invested in the system should have zero consideration as to the school's next step (so I call it a "sunk cost").

In any case, I'm not attacking the Princeton. I'm not attacking the decision to go to the Princeton. I'm just saying don't let the decision to go to the Princeton impact SMU's decision going forward. Salvage and move on.

I don't think they'd keep him based on system, nor is Gtown's princeton's truly modified. SMU just hasn't had a PG that can get into the lane, or to the rim, since starting the experiment. So, ours looks more traditional, cause it almost always starts w/a handoff to the wing, or high post entry. The way ours starts to look like theirs, or Richmond/Northwesterns for that matter, is to take our lumps w/Manuel now. That way, you start w/idea of attacking off the bounce, if you can. As is, we run a lot of our O on the perimeter, side to side, and don't get much going to the basket. End of the Little Rock game was the first time this year we got multiple easy buckets off back cuts etc.

Honestly, I just wish Doh would recognize that we have some run/jump athletes, and not back it out every damn time. Lots of princeton or tempo-control teams still run a secondary break, or go when they have numbers. We don't. Also, we have depth & length, so press on occasion. There is no reason to adhere to strict principles, when it keeps lesser talented squads in the game. Go w/the strict version vs Memphis, cause it makes Pastners head explode.
