When I was a student rep on the board two years ago, they showed us detailed plans. Moody is going to be AWESOME.

You just ruined my afternoon, thanks.

I'm not pro-Doh at all, but I really don't get the hate either. At the very least, watch conference play. Seems to me they have a few more loses than they should, but there's at least 17 games to play, almost all against teams we can beat. Now we get to see if Doh can figure out a way to run the gauntlet. That's entertainment.

But who will stomp their loafer to open the new Moody Coliseum if Doh isn't here?

Moody will soon be a loud and great place to watch basketball games. I fine with pretty much any team in the BE for the opener (Louisville, Nova, GTown, Notre Dame, Marquette, Cincy, UCONN, Depaul, etc...wow what a conference.)

Hoop, I'm not sure we'll ever agree on this subject. I've actually sat in classes with players that he's coached and let's just say I don't approve of his methods (or ability as a coach). Given his ability to be an above average recruiter, I thought he was a good mid-major hire. For the long-term prosperity of the program, he needs to go. I realize SO may not want to cut bigger checks to a new coach until BE money is flowing, so I'll just deal with it. It's just time to expect more.

I know most of the horror stories, but you pretty much can't listen to players. Think of it this way, last year at this time, it was all BCG, all the time around here. He's every bit as abusive as Doh and he's killing Tech currently. Should we fire Doh, the first guy that will submit an application is Fran Fraschilla, and he's freakin cuckoo. Gary Williams, Frank Martin and all the rest.

What's the profile of your ideal SMU coaching prospect? Kinder and gentler? Young? Black? Experience, style of play? It's not a loaded question or anything, I'm just having a helluva time finding a sure thing, given what we know about this school, admin, program, acad support & grassroots rep. Beyond that, the guying w/hiring power is a hoops buffoon. Look at the deal he gave Doh, his first rollover incentive(which is lol funny), and then allowed to change systems mid-contract. He got completely bent over.

I always liked Doh of course I don't know squat about hoops. He acts like he wants to be there that's always a plus in my book. The real question is always the same, how are you going to get fans inside this new place. SMU fans I know are a blast just not ever enough of them.

I have the same opinion. Winning will draw them in. So will BEast opponents.

I like Gregg Marshall some as well. Gotta feel out Shaka and a bunch of others. Ben Jacobsen, the guy at UTSA etc

I guess all I'm saying is that IF we trend up in CUSA, you gotta keep your mind open. The reality of this industry is that 3 years ago, many of us would have loved Ken McDonald, even Cameron Dollar. I would have pushed for Chuck Driesell. Now look at those guys. Darrin Horn was on top of the world 3 years ago, and he's lost it all. People think hot means good. It's more often than not pretty fleeting.

I think I know the plans you are speaking of and there are a few minor changes that have occurred since then, but nonetheless Moody is going to be the best basketball arena in the state of Texas.
