Also he has taken 2 teams to the sweet 16. At LSU they expect you to get every top recruit in Louisiana and he did not have the ties there to do it. It way to early to pass say whether this is a good or bad hire at this point. Not going to be make anyone just jump for joy but it's not a bad hire IMO. More quotes.

"Coach Johnson has developed a rep as a guy that is true to his word with the kids he recruits and the people he works with. He's got a good reputation with his peers."

"Time will tell if he's a good fit, but like any head coach, it's going to be important that he selects his staff wisely. It's a plus that they got a coach that is familiar with two big conference and know he has what it takes to succeed at this level. They made a good choice in getting a guy that wasn't from a small conference or didn't have any head coaching experience because he already knows how to recruit at the big level.
"We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Hmmmm- does this sound like anyone we might end up with? Major conference experience, head coach. Well, I guess we will see what we end up with- someday.
