IMO the dislike for SO stems from a couple of things. First, he seems to come across as being really arrogant and second, people have gotten tired of his 'top 25...' bs . I have no axe to grind with him. I think he has done a good job but might have done better. I hope he will make some coaching changes in some of the non-rev sports when we get to BEAST and have a little more money in the budget.

Ok, but aren't most prominent figures in college sports arrogant to some degree? Don't you have to have an ego to tick in that environment?

I have no qualms with the Top 25 mantra- we SHOULD strive to have Top 25 programs in our athletic program. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm emailed with SO several times over the years about various issues, and hes' always been responsive, understanding, and frank in his responses. I hope he is our AD for many years to come.

I agree that Top 25 in everything we do is the right mantra. We could start with programs that have the ability to close that gap quicker than ours, such as Swimming & Diving for Men and Women. Our programs have eroded, SO, and that is based on the weak results and the quality of their facility.

Its like being lead out of the desert by Moses, and then stoning him to death.

You people are both crazy and stupid - which is a tough combination in life.

I mean, literally, we're probably not going to be Top 25 in football, basketball, golf, tennis, swimming, soccer, volleyball, and equestrian all at the same time. But I don't have a problem with the mantra, and that should be our goal. It's a lot better than the abyss we were in with Copeland, that's for sure.
