almost as ridiculous as it is to think that this thread will drive them to action.

Thank you.

Those who clamor for a TCU-esque speed hire are crazy. We waited eons for a football coach, and although he was gift-wrapped by Eric Dickerson, we landed a coach who has led us to three straight bowl games after decades (literally) of ineptitude.

Now TCU grabs a coach who was about to get fired and who often seems (to me, at least) to be grossly overmatched in the X's and O's department. SMU, meanwhile, is after a coach who admittedly is a strange dude but whose career record is 302 GAMES OVER THE .500 MARK.

But a quick hire of some afterthought would be better? I'm no Orsini fan, but if he lands Majerus, he will have kicked TCU's tail on this one.

More so if we continue beating them in basketball going forward :D

If he's so awesome, available and realistic, why is he so far down our list? Sounds like we poorly pre-vetted our previous 9-10 offers, poorly graded options or both.

Anyway you slice it, it has been a poorly conducted search, and that wording already assumes a great out-come. TCU knew what it wanted and what was realistic and went out and got it in under a week. It sounds like they put out several feelers, went past first base with 2 or 3 of them, picked the best and made an offer which was accepted. We, meanwhile, will pull down our pants for anyone who looks at us for more than two seconds and have nothing to show for it in four weeks. I'm relieved we still have respected options like Majures and Brown still in-play but it's not as if it took a four week strategy to bring them to the table.
