As always you all give way too much credit to our easy alma mater, original poster who I assume is a grad, doesn't even know how to use "too" vs. "To". That's remedial English folks, smu is just not as hard as y'all proclaim! Johnny would be a great hire.

I read the OP's post, and the use of the word "to" is correct in both instances. Maybe YOU need a brief lesson in remedial English. You sound like a ntsu or tcu grad.

Isn't a search committee supposed to find candidates with some level of interest in the job?

Troy Aikman's overused, watered-down, now-meaningless adjective. Is that all you got?

hoopmanx wrote:This is funny cause Jones is final 2 at LSU, and the probable leader for their gig. Better yet, he's backed by Dale Brown and Shaq...lol...and now we're just getting around to him. In a search of embarrassing moments, this may be the best. Wait till he uses Orsini to up his pay at LSU, priceless

If this plays out the way I think it will, SO will truly have been burned. Not to say he won't find us a good coach but his "aim high" priority is backfiring....

was thinking the same thing. aren't we paying a lot of $$ to this search committee so we won't be embarrassed?

meanwhile we should have taken larry brown when he was the only person who expressed interest to coach here. it's all so sad for dear old SMU.

Larry Brown...if for no other reason than that he can get on TV/Radio and help redeem our already-now-more bruised media perception.

Jones may not be going anywhere... but as a Gopher, I am used to Tubby talking to and /or being linked to a few higher profile jobs every year. Candidly, many at the U wish he would go. He's not been as terrible as Dan Monson (seriously, SMU? Monson?) but he hasn't been all that.

Grammar Nazi on the prowl. I guess I will have to stop rushing to get these posts up and check for more typos because one missed "o" can kill you.

He evidently was referring to the title of the thread...he may know his grammar, but doesn't do a very good job of providing clarity in his writing. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
