I for one will never let the "pep rally" die until the self-proclaimed sages of sorrow, the prognosticators of perturbation, the criers of calamity and, most of all, the BCS offer fetishers quit their whining.

June will not be here forever, he has done an outstanding job and we would all be better off if we focused on the team and supporting them on the field.

June has done a good job not outstanding. Mason has done a very good job on defense. The next coach that comes in need to be outstanding to get us to the 10 win mark. But no need to downgrade something that Coach Brown is doing in order to defend Coach Jones. June has helped us and I hope Coach Mumme can take this offense into the 21st century.

Well I guess he could have made some better adjustments in that game. Agreed.

June did an outstanding job of getting us out of a twenty year wallow of misery. For those twenty years, we were number 113 of 117 teams in win percentage.

In the last four years, we were number 54 of 120 teams.

I'm not sure what else one could expect from a coach in terms of a turnaround. And let's not forget we've played in four minor bowls in the last four years and won three handily.

That's an outstanding job, sorry. And this staff is very good at developing talent as evidenced by so many players in the NFL who played under JJ. That's outstanding.

Now the bad. We suck at recruiting. The effort is abysmal, embarrassing. And JJ doesn't seem to like it here and tried to bolt. I'd like a coach that likes SMU and Dallas.

So again, if it were up to me, I'd like to see eight wins this year to consider keeping JJ. And even then we need substantial changes in the staff out there on the recruiting trail. I don't see that happening and think it's time we move on after this season.

Regarding the sunshiner thing, I am sorry, this is a fan board. Pull out your Websters dictionary for the definition of "fan." I will NEVER apologize for cheerleading. It's what fans do. They cheer for their team.

Okay, how about a compromise. Since college coaches need to be good at both coaching and recruiting to be truly successful let's just say he has done very well at getting use to post season play but not as good at recruiting. I think the next coach will have to be good at both if we plan on making it to a BCS game.

I think if Coach Brown can haul in another top 25 class then things could get interesting on THE HILLTOP.
