Re: CincyNot so bad when you into it. The lower level makes it really good for smaller crowds like volleyball or womens basketball.
Re: CincyIt's actually a great venue, and also in a great location.
Re: Cincy
It's a multi-purpose facility. A pro hockey team plays there, that's why it's all the movable seats down low. Like Rebel said, that place rocks when UC is playing a good team. The location is right downtown next to about 50 bars and restaurants. No joke. Solid location, about as good as I've seen even though I hate UC.
Re: Cincy
KFC Yum is much better than Freedom Hall imo. Better seating and view angles. More people on level 1 than the Hall had which makes the crowd closer to the action so that the noise will be louder. I am interested to see how loud the loge area will be at Moody. #HammerDown
Re: Cincy
Yeah, to echo Rebel, Freedom was an absolute POS. Literally awful. They did it right with the Yum Center, I'm never in favor of tearing down a historic facility for a new one but Freedom was really a dump. As for the above poster, Assembly (assuming you're talking Indiana) is awesome. Great place to watch a game, those sidelines go up for forever and are very steep. Very loud, intimate atmosphere the way it's built. Even cooler is Hinkle and it goes beyond Butler playing there. Just a historic venue to the core (this is where Hoosiers was filmed for the state championship), it's where they've held the Indiana state championship since what seems like the beginning of time. As for Rupp, not a big fan of the place, it's absolutely massive. Not a fun place to watch a game imo. It's like a pro arena and there really are rafter seats where players look like ants in the 2nd deck. Pauley Pavillion (never been there for a bball game but have been in the facility and saw a volleyball match) seems pretty sweet, although their fans are very fair-weather. As for Kansas, one of my favorite places to watch a game. That place rocks. And when they all chant Rock Chalk Jayhawk, dear gawd it's amazing. Sounds like you're at a church and it just, I don't even know what to say about that atmosphere that would do it justice. Lastly, Cameron is my favorite, no doubt. That place is loud even in the bad games. Well worth the ridiculous price of admission, just to see that place. So small and so loud. Sounds and looks like some high school gyms in Ohio. It doesn't take much to make the decibel level in that place go through the roof. MSG just got done with their renovation, haven't seen it yet but have heard great things. That place needed it, it wasn't what it once was but so much history. Huge facility obviously but a great arena. My favorite arena I think is probably Indiana of the bunch. That place is a lot of fun and when they're good, it's an exciting place to be. Everything from the warm-ups they wear, to the floor, to the history to the way it's built. They built it for the fans, there really isn't a bad seat even though it's massive. Fans literally sit on top of each other, it's crazy how vertical it is.
Re: CincyKansas and Cameron are on my bucket list. I hear both are special places to see a game. I've been to Pauley and I left very unimpressed. It's cool to think about all the tradition but as OBF said, their fans are very fair weather. They were playing SJSU and there was zero energy in the building. I'm sure it's different at PAC 12 games though.
