This should be re-titled the "Joan Rivers" thread...

Hey, everybody: there is interest in this program! Students are supporting the team! Fans are starting to fill the seats! Let's find something else to complain about other than a group of enthusiastic students who happen to be required to wear their letters to games a few weeks out of the year as part of pledgeship. Geez.

We are trying to kill this tradition. My pledges and the Phi Delt pledges did not wear their jerseys to tonights game.

But then everyone talks about how great the SAE's were and I get bitched at for not having our guys in jerseys. Its a stupid [deleted] measuring contest and I hope a SAE alumn will tell them to cut it the [deleted] out.

They had great energy, but It can be better. It would be better without the gay jerseys, so people point it out. They should be glad we point it out so they don't have to be embarrassed any longer.

I really don't care if they have jerseys of some kind, just make them school colors.

Great job getting your guys out there Smerkins.

Sounds like a responsible reaction, if that was how the question was phrased. Let's find better things to do than blast SMU students for supporting athletics.

I think because now we are on national a lot and most student bodies do not do that. See Kansas, UNC or Duke etc.

All the good that sae did with spirit was set back by wearing purple.

New building. New team. Time for some new traditions, like wearing the school colors. Put your letters all over them, but don't wear goofy purple jerseys to an SMU sports event.

Skip the letters.

Go as SMU.

What has been great is all the students looking as one....letters seem to say we are not with them.

Greeks and non greeks have an opportunity to work together to have lots of fun at these games that can get national recognition.

You're not going to get extra tv time wearing letters, but we might if we had 1,000 elves, lobsters, or everyone dress as the mob.
