I don't understand the need to stand the whole game. That's stupid BS and amateur hour. Try being on time and doing something useful like shouting out the shot clock.

No one is keeping you from sitting, but don't tell me not to stand for my team. BTW, I am one of the blue hairs. Kudos to the students for standing--kept the Memphis blue hairs from being able to see. The white haired ladies complained the whole game.
It makes sense to me.

Just use some common sense. Sure, in a game like that you're gonna spend a huge amount of time standing, but we all know when it's not necessary or courteous. And I certainly don't agree with running any fan off.

that memphis crowd was pretty good - but was the smallest we have seen from them. Thats the great thing about our arena now is nobody will come in an take away our home - there just aren't enough seats available to do that.

Had a Memphis contingent behind us trying to get a "Let's go Tigers" cheer going. It petered out quickly.

Everyone I saw leaving early was younger than me.

Or maybe you are just enjoying the game and rooting for your team?

People pay money to root for their team, and do it knowing others came to do the same. If someone isn't screaming obscenities or knocking into someone or somehow directly being an [deleted] then others around him need to deal with it.

Already at the 5K mark I believe. Or just under it for anyone keeping score. Wouldn't be surprised to see the entire arena built on season ticket holders next year, that's when you know they've arrived in a big way.

it is awesome - they were used to walking up and buying, sitting wherever they wanted. Those days are over.

I don't want to take a side on a subject that I don't care that much about, but you rarely see fans in bball stand the whole game. Very very few places (it's mainly student sections at places like Duke, UNC, etc.). It's [deleted] to think that some 50+ year old fan would need to either stand the whole game or stare at the back of your head for two hours. Our students are standing, great. I wouldn't be rude to expect others above the rail to do the same.

We have been sitting on our hands for decades with not much to cheer for. The generational shift will happen over the next few years. I am going to enjoy this and be loud.
