Re: Rutgers potential snow outCurrent forecast has storm delayed into NJ now starting early Thursday and continuing through mid day with roughly 10 inches of snow predicted. This could be a mess if current patterns hold. Anyone know what the team schedule might be for arriving in NJ or Philly? If they get in early this evening they will have no problems with weather; however, this thing gets messy shortly thereafter. Initially I would have had them come into and stay in Philly, but that type of a plan may be a real problem so they may be adjusting what ever they planned just to be and stay close to Rutgers.
Re: Rutgers potential snow outExactly, I'm more worried about getting to the stadium/potential power outages at the stadium. Though the northeast is well equipped to handle snow, this one is supposed to be pretty darn nasty. Last week a similar storm in Philly knocked power out at my sister's apartment for 3 days. There aren't many great hotels close to Rutgers, so the teams original plans were probably not to be close to the stadium. Just hoping all goes well travelling in and to the game.
Re: Rutgers potential snow outThis really isn't looking like too big a deal on the coast and along I-95 (where Rutgers is) Further north and inland should be more of a problem. As I've stated a few miles makes a big difference with these things up here. The weather nerds thrive on making every snowflake a story.
The biggest issue is the airport situation. If the Ponies get in you can be pretty certain there will be a game. There are any number of ways the can get there. Newark airport is the most likely and just 20 or so miles away. If they fly into Philly to set up camp for the weekend then they can bus down or even take the train. If they are traveling today they should be ok It's really no big deal unless this is an epic storm. I think it's a simple rain/sleet/snow event….not fun but not crippling. Last week when I was watching WVa take out Oklahoma at home the announcer said that OK had endured a 20 hour trip to get to the boonies where WVa is situated. Come to think of it that's a boonie to boonie trip. Hopefully we do a little better. Party at The Wopper!
