How do you coach Nic Moore 0-9? 5 for 20 from the field 2nd half. We need more offensive playmakers on this team.
Be nice to have a real McDonalds all-American..........
Keith shot pretty well and played decent defense today. Sterling and everyone else were just off or did bot want to shoot in the 2nd half. Houston has shooters.

I meant in the three game skid down the stretch you mentioned.

I think we will be in the tourney but will be an 11 seed. I don't have much hope though that we can make a run. Past three games have shown our inability to sustain a lead. Also, once we fall behind we have a mental block and cant seem to get back in it in during the second half.

Folks that are hitting the panic button are just no thinking. Houston has never been a gimme - it is very hard to beat the same team three times. Also the other two loses were against the defending national champion who hit 57% of their threes and Memphis at their place where they lost almost no games.
So take a deep breath. Cost ourselves some seed today which probably shortens the trip - but we are in.

I can see the argument for and against us. I just don't see this thing as a lock. I get that we have some impressive wins but our road record and our 3 straight losses going into selection Sunday doesn't do us any favors. Hope it works out.
Back off Warchild seriously.

We've been a lock since UCONN. The bubble this year sucks. Maybe in other years I would be worried, but look at what else is out there - we are 100% a lock. Seed took a hit, and momentum wise we aren't playing our best, but our name will be called on Sunday.

There are teams every year that go into this weekend feeling they are locks to get in and somehow get left out. I'm not saying that we are that team but we have to be feeling a little nervous and saying its a lock is, IMO, giving us far too much credit when we have no pedigree as a program in the eyes of the committee. I do think the Top 25 wins probably tips things in our favor and the weak bubble. But a lock? No way.

SMT let's do a signature bet on whether SMU makes the tournament. I win (SMU gets in), I get control of your signature until next March. You win (SMU left out), you get mine.

I generally agree with this. I would say 80/20 or 90/10 but the lack of a significant bubble this year gives me more hope than most years. Glad we're all getting our despair out of our systems quickly from today's loss.

Will be very surprised at this point if we are placed any higher than a 10 seed.
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.

East Coast,
No way! If you put a gun to my head I would say SMU gets into the tournament. We have a solid resume but we lack the name recognition or pedigree that gets some of those bubble teams the benefit of the doubt. Should make for great theater. Like I said every year there are teams that feel raw about getting left out. Weak bubble this year though I agree.

Ok, then stop freaking out about this like a woman with PMS. We're in, I hope we can avoid play-in game and if I had to guess we'll be an 11 seed, but we're in. Have been for weeks. Grab a beer or something. If you'd told me before this season started that we'd be disappointed with a 12 seed in the tourney I would've been thrilled.

Before the season? Yes being in this position would have been viewed by almost everyone as a success. Expectations changed when we ran wild over UCONN twice and beat Cincy and Memphis at Moody. At that point I think we were all thinking not only can we make the tournament but we might be able to make some noise.

The selection committee does talk. They do not just look at numbers and they look at more than the last game. I am sure they will note that we beat Houston 2 out of 3 times played along with a the other goods and bads we have had. We will be ok.
