The sick thing is that I've wrapped myself up in the Turner recruitment enough to the point that when he signs elsewhere, it's going to be one final kick in the junk until football starts. After we take that slap in the face, I guess we can consider picking ourselves up for basketball again and starting at square 1...this hurts

I was never "sad". I was, and always, will be pissed. Nothing will ever make that go away. When we win a national championship, I will have a release (stop it, dirty minds). But I will always be pissed.

Oliver - don't be a ninny. We are no better than 10% likely to get Turner. Our coaches will get the right guys in here - don't worry about that - it just isn't going to be the hot name on the board. Nobody ever gets all those guys.

Last night / today feels exactly how I felt when my longtime girlfriend broke up with me.

There's truth to this. I'd have been thrilled with the #1 NIT seed pre-season.

But on the other hand, I really did not expect to be in the office Thursday or Friday this week. (Especially up until my lunch break last Thursday...)

Oddly enough this is the only thing that made me laugh in the last 24 hours (the end made me audibly chuckle)

You're right.

However . . . getting to the tourney is ahead of schedule (and the way the team played for most of the season raised those expectations). Getting to the NIT is not, though. IMHO. It's about where I thought we'd be.

So, what schedule are we on next year? Get to the tourney and win 1 or 2? Is having ONE new guy going to make us THAT much better? (I understand he's the bugatti). (maybe that coupled with the experience of this year).

Yes- he is the real deal. Won't average 20/night but will make the whole team much better. We've really missed a guy who can consistently get to the rim this year- EM can do that, kick out to Nic for 3s, etc. Will be VERY fun to watch

I'll fully admit to being wrapped up in the success. Am I happy and do I recognize that we're ahead of schedule, yes, but did we get absolutely [deleted] slapped by the NCAA and does it hurt, of course.

The fact that we are ahead of where we should be, and are in the mix for guys we really still have no business getting doesn't mean we can't suffer massive heartache when we get punked like this. With success comes greater expectation, that's life. We were not rewarded for the incredible hard work and progress we made as a program this year, that really sucks.
