Please do not "over enforce" the rules. More neutral music cannot possibly mean don't play Pony Battle or Peruna -- even at the NCAA tournament they allow bands to do that every timeout. And please don't make the Bank play Lollipops and Roses.

As for piped in music, I don't see how "Jump" or "Seven Nation Army" etc. are inherently "pro SMU." They seem pretty neutral to me. It just happens that they have one team host these NIT games; it's only natural for the crowd to sing along to these otherwise neutral songs.

What exactly are the consequences of stepping over the line by playing a "non-neutral" song during a timeout? Is this something the refs are supposed to police? Are there warnings from monitors?

There are limits on when/what the band plays, but that should be less noticable. We will play "Jump Around", "Seven Nation Army", etc.

Since we can't use the intelligent lighting (which played such a big role in the "Coming Home" intro), we have a new video...

What's the NCAA gonna do? If you don't like home court advantages, don't hold games on home courts...

And apparently, they've relaxed the "no loud fans behind the opposing team's bench rule", since Kurt P. just called me -- of all people -- to sit in seats in that location. Only thing hindering me from showing the students how it's done is a certain 2 year old who is in an inexplicable phase where every time I sing or try to dance along to any music, she yells "(S)top it Mommy!" So we'll see how this goes. :D

Obviously the NCAA doesn't want to be anywhere close to something that might resemble 'intelligent'.

This is pretty messed up. There needs to be a Superdome-like blackout staged, but how cool would it be if we had a pregame presentation like the Cleveland Cavaliers?

And I really want this to happen now since we can't have our traditional introductions.

SID we should have an intro video for the NIT set to Drake's song 'Worst Behavior.' The repeated lyric "mother [deleted] never loved us" seems an appropriate theme. Referring to the NCAA of course

Right in line with
"Can't put together an intelligent selection committee"

At least they are consistent
