I think this is probably another area where we just need to trust Larry's judgement. It's pretty clear that Yanick's injury earlier in the season probably cost him, even if it's no longer actually affecting him.

Yanick is not getting minutes because the guys in front of him are playing too well. LB always gives minutes to guys playing well and mk and Cunningham have steped up. Yanick will have a great chance to earn more minutes next year. Also LB went with Cunningham tonight because he is taller than mk and is a better outside shooter then mk and yanick.

No. That would be a good reason to not put him back IN. He never even got out of his warmup suit. Again, and I hate to keep repeating myself but MK and Yanick do NOT play the same position. Yanick is a center and MK is a power forward. They should be on the floor together at the same time and Cannen is a great sub for Yanick. I'm ok with them splitting minutes but he needs to be in the game. B. Moore is MK's back up.

Yanick will get back into the rotation when he has a chance to compete for it during practice next year. He never went in because cannon has earned toeing the first off the bench and he played well. When cannon needed a blow it's back to mk who has been stellar. Then tonight it was clear cannon was the man to go to because he is the best shooter of all 3 of them by a wide margin.

Of all the games where Yanick hasn't made an appearance I have the least amount of trouble with his one.
Ben and Cannen played very well against King Kong. Both have games better suited for the situation. MK showed a hell of a lot of heart going inside time and again. He generally draws fouls but tonight he really just got almost everything he threw up swatted. I can't see how YM would have been much different

The things put us over the top: perimeter defense, free throws and our bench. We hit 13 more free throws than them and won by 14. Our bench almost out scored our starters. I'd say LB worked the rotation almost perfectly tonight.

And heck yeah if I was Yanick I 'd be bumming as well. But acting out will get him even less minutes.

Really wish that LB would play a frontline of MK, Yanick, and Ben Moore. People can say all they want about the fact that MK is not quick enough to handle an opposing 3. I would like to see a team try and match up with us. We would have one of the best frontlines in college basketball! We need to play to our strengths. We are actually fairly deep at the 3, 4 and 5.

I understand that we are playing more of a 3 guard lineup, but MK has no business playing as our Center with Shawn Williams at PF. If anything MK should be our PF and Yanick our Center in a 3 guard lineup.

Matching MK against UC Irvine's 7' 6" Center was a joke. I appreciate MK's effort and relentless motor, but how many blocks does it take for LB to realize that was not a good matchup for SMU. Put Yanick at the Center and shuffle MK, Ben Moore, Shawn Williams, and Cannen Cunningham at the 3 and 4. If you need to play Cunningham at the 5 to spell Yanick as a backup then fine. We need to keep our Bigs happy! Move Sterling to the 2. With Sterling's size we would have an advantage at the 2, move Russell to the bench. I trust Coach Brown, but I really wish Keith Frazier and Yanick Moriera were getting more minutes.

If you can´t find 5 minutes (let alone 1 minute) for your starting center then there is another issue.

Don´t get me wrong Ben Moore, MK, Cannen are all playing well. But you can´t find 1 minute in the last 4-5 games to play the guy you called the best player on the team at the beginning of the season? Yanick must not be playing with full confidence (mental block w/ leg) or he has actually lost a step with his injury.

Are there any practice reports that can point to how he is playing in practice? Is he just subpar?

It's totally ridiculous. Ben Moore was great last night,but slumping prior to that. Cannen has been good recently, other than the Memphis start. MK has been very average the last month. There is room in the rotation, especially if you'd just sit Shawne. Never playing Yanick and MK together is borderline criminal too.

Larry is a master culture builder, but his handling of the roster has been borderline atrocious at times this year.

The guys on the Court won the game in pretty awesome fashion. LB game planned it that way for a reason. Is it a long term reason or a short term reason, we don't know. But we won the game. If he needs a tall line-up down the line you'll probably see YM in the line-up. Look its hard to get everyone on a deep team the playing time they like. Think about next year when we have to awesome point guards. But he picks the spots where either they are needed or most likely to succeed. He probably felt that YM was not a good match-up with the 7'6" guy and thus, he sat.

are we watching the same player? I thought Moreira constantly looks lost on the offensive side of the ball when he's in the game. Just doesn't seem to have a feel for what we are trying to do it seems.

But I think we could have used him on D to spell MK and CC.
