It was a joke
I figured...shrug! Just trying to navigate the vitriol that has overtaken so many. You wouldn't think we cheer for one of the 25 or so teams that are still alive, about to play a game at home in front of a sold out crowd (against a pretty good opponent).
Playing in March is new around here

BTW, I have 3 of our 4 teams in the Sweet 16 (I hope Memphis kicks UVA's *ss today). IF this happens, will people FINALLY give the AAC the respect that it deserves?????

Keep repeating the bogus data point that was selected to justify exclusion of a Top 25 team in the field and maybe somebody will believe it.

There's nothing to "buy". A 300+ OOC SOS was an issue. SMU didn't finish as a top 25 team, and polls are misleading and are irrelevant for seeding (even if they had finished top 25). You have to play for the Committee.

SOS was an issue, but both explainable and not the only thing they look at. There was no excuse for lack of inclusion. Maybe drop us from a 6 or 7 seed to a 10 or an 11. But outright exclusion?

Cox is right. I and most still believe that SMU belonged in the NCAA but the committee blamed our SOS. And the SOS was not bad because of the high ranked teams we played but rather the low level of the low teams we played. We do not have to better our top half of our schedule but we do need to raise the bottom half up somewhat.

Cox is right that that's a stat they used to justify the rape. Cox is wrong that it's a sufficient reason.

Well the answer is to schedule right so it is not an issue next year.

And the answer is not to wear a low cut blouse and you won't be raped.

It's sufficient in the eyes of the committee. What do you want? Nothing else matters but the committee. 300+ OOC SOS was clearly not sufficient for the committee and is therefore a very sufficient reason.

I get that. What I don't get is SMU fans succumbing to the idea that the committee did the right thing.

Hell, I go topless and I have never been raped. The decision is made by the deciders, not the spectators.

I have never defended the point or agreed with it. My point is clarifying upon which the Committee based its decision. SMU fans are -- understandably -- hanging a good deal of weight on a few wins over good teams vs 15 wins over really bad teams. That was my point. The Committee slapped SMU for its full resume (even wins).

This. I fully expect to see a GREAT OOC schedule next year. Can't wait.
