I know you're joking but LB was into it at Kansas.

From Wikipedia (so I has to be true)...
In 1982, the Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team began to officially promote a celebration dubbed "Midnight Madness" as a school event with formal entertainment acts and an invited student audience. Another of the more famous events is "Late Night in the Phog" at Kansas, which was started in 1985 by Larry Brown and is now broadcast in live streaming video via the Internet.[5] The event has caught on on most campuses; various programs have given away T-shirts and allowed players do stunt dunks and half court shots.

For what I've heard, Larry used to love the night life back in the day. Such a boss.

I think it is too early for this. Students can't fill it, and our corporate-heavy and family-heavy alumni base make a late event less desirable. I dont think we fill Moody if it is that late.

I emailed Rick Hart. He said they discussing options for a season-opening event. He closed the email with "Stay tuned." So something is definitly in the works.

They'll end up calling it mustang madness and starting it at like 7:30. You have to cater to alums, families or kids, even though they destroy the whole premise of Lefty's event.

That's okay. That may work best for our program. What works for some might not be the best for SMU. (example: white-out at a football game  )

This needs to happen immediately. This is the most hype any SMU sports team has ever seen during the offseason. Treat the fans to a show.

Rick Hart @AD_RickHart · 12h

“@agreen07: @AD_RickHart we need a midnight moody madness practice to kick off the season! #ponyup” Several options under consideration.

I don't have anything against coeds in white dresses. In fact I fully support it.

Opposed to Midnight Madness.

I could be incorrect, but I believe teams are only allowed X number of practice hours before the season begins. So, the practice time would probably be better spent behind closed doors than in a Midnight Madness environment.

But I imagine that I'm in the minority in terms of my opposition.
