Which recruits did we specifically miss out on that you expected us to get? I don't think we were "in the lead" with anyone.

This recruiting cycle we've picked up Ben Emelogu, Sedrick Barefield. Hell throw Tolbert in since he's taking this year off. Solid haul thus far, I'd say.

Does it not count as missing on a recruit if we are not ever in the lead for them? If so, why not?

I don't know why people keep thinking we are "missing" on recruits. Can't name one, except maybe Mcquaid.

we're recruiting for the end of the roster now and recruits know it. In the meantime, Barefield is a 3 yr starter as is Emegolu. That's your backcourt of the future people, in a sport predicated on having an awesome backcourt. Go ahead and whine though, so I know who not to respond to in the future

Exactly. I'm not as sold on Foster, but it's only because I don't know much about him (and I'm not a huge RM fan...even if Foster is RM 2.0).

Assuming our class is 6 (5+1 early), Bare and Eme make 4 open. Three need to be bigs, and I was hoping last one would be AG. Foster doesn't fit in above equation. Trust HCLB completely, but I will feel a little better when some height commits.

Thanks, Hoopmanx, for a succinct, knowledgeable answer. BTW, I'm not whining, just asking.

All I know about Foster is he's a top 3 kid in Houston that the heads love. Size/length/skill gives him real upside. Check out his videos, solid. Heard kerwin roach talking about him on twitter, and saying all he lacked was exposure. Essentially played unbranded ball, never traveled, and missed his junior yr July, as well as senior season. That will destroy your recruiting. He can also read, which we could use a little of.

We could use a few bigs, no doubt. That said, on paper, it's still Kennedy, Moore, Tolbert next year. Ultimately, I have no interest in being 13 deep again. Creates more problems than solutions

As always, appreciate (and trust) your view (especially on some of these guys that I haven't spent some time following). I know you provided some good color on the pay boards, too.

On paper, it is still Kennedy, Moore, and Tolbert...on paper (with two being Srs).

Agree 100% on the 13 deep. Drives me crazy when fans try to stuff a roster with 13 legit deep. Not second guessing HOF HCLB, but 9 players should be getting 90%+ of the minutes. A 13 man rotation leads to problems. I'm with you X, this class is in good shape. If we can land 1-2 bigs (and AG as a cherry on top), we're golden. Carry the other schollies into spring to see what you get in the bargain bin.

Great points on the rotation. Players being recruited know that there is only so many minutes to go around and part of their calculation is where they fall on the roster - and over 4 years.

Funny how guys who keep saying the LB model won't work in making the Fball team good cause it's different in hoops, yet try to apply the football recruiting paradigm to hoops recruiting. You aren't going to stack every position 2 deep.

I'm not a hoops guy and dint pretend to be one, but recognize that there is a plan. Just remember we took a bunch of guys that had to transfer and I would rather get the right guys than get guys that don't fit.

Hoopmanx- you worried about us recruiting big men at all for this cycle? We'll lose Yanick, Cannen, and possibly Markus after this season and it sounds like we're on the outside looking in on Elijah and Blackshear after missing on a bunch of guys.
