Question:

Are these cold offers, or has SMU been in contact with these players with a "We really like you game, but we don't have any slots right now. If things change we will have an offer for you." message?

They aren't cold, but they are new. Basically, once the list narrows you check out kids you've heard are good, but didn't get a chance to see much of in the summer. So, you trek out to their high school, watch them work out, then offer in the Fall.

Its not a desperation thing as much as you can't see and effectively target everyone. We didn't see LaGerald Vick hardly at all this summer, but heard he was a baller. Then we checked him out in September and it was on

Is it too late to get in the game like this with Kapita? Seems to be ranked very high.

BTW, I have NEVER heard of his school.

IIRC, Tri Cities resulted when the smaller high schools in the south suburbs of College Park, East Point, and Hapeville consolidated.

You've probably looked at the map but its north of the airport.

Depends on kid, circumstance and any additional leverage we may or may not have. Maybe he's been lightly recruited b/c schools felt he would't qualify, but something changed. Maybe our new strength coach, for example, knows the kids family etc. Kinda hard to tell where we are w/some of these kids

LB and two assistants are in Georgia watching Davis today. Looks like we are putting on the full court press... love it.

Very nice. Then get on a plane and go see Kapita. What is the scope on JC Reyes?

Too bad Memphis didn't get any 3 stars last year...

Davis highlights remind me a lot of Ben Moore. Maybe a little more solidly built.
