Jeff Goodman said on tv that MK needed to get an A on the paper but he didn't.

The one thing I don't get - if the problem is writing papers all he has to do is go to the LEC. You don't even have to be an athlete for them to write your paper for you

A few hour turnaround would be some quick grading for a prof, though not entirely unrealistic given the circumstances.
More importantly, if this came down to a paper, there is no reason MK shouldn't be, and he had better be eligible. If we didn't get the guy who wrote the g---amn textbook tutoring Markus and taking his essay through multiple drafts, until it is worthy of withstanding peer review in a scholarly journal, I'm sickened by our school's efforts.

This^^^. Something is wrong if he needed an A and our resources could not handle it.

I wonder if the professor is biased either way.

There is no telling. However I know a lot of History professors that are loving this right now. There may be a lot of politics in play.

As long as we are going to try and have top tier programs and top tier athletes, we are always going to be struggling to keep kids eligible. Hopefully it doesn't start getting around to recruits that they are actually going to have to do work here unlike every other school.

Every college program in the country deals with this and not just the better academic schools. Only reason you don't hear about it is most people don't follow a lot of colleges basketball teams that closely and many of the players that are the most high profile don't last in college into their junior and senior years.
