Had we known he was going bail on us at the 11th hour we would've gone in a different direction with recruiting. He slow played us and left us hanging out to dry.

I'm sorry to hear about his injury and I hope he recovers.

Yea, but that was something to be mad about months ago. Now we are tracking his career in China in ponyfans forums when he never even went here, doesn't make sense to me. I am new to board, so maybe that's the norm?

Reasonable or not, I'll probably follow his career much more closely than I would have otherwise. I wish he'd suited up for SMU, but I wish him the best regardless.

He's a good dude. People wishing him to fail is just childish.

As much as he pissed me off I wish him nothing but the best. He's a freak athlete and has so much potential.

If he gets drafted in top 10 and goes onto a great NBA career, I would welcome him as an ambassador of SMU. I think the guy was screwed by UA and perhaps the SMU Admin and I hold no ill will towards him at all.

If he sports an SMU ballcap / Tshirt here and there, continues to say good things about Larry and SMU, and shows up to a game every once in a while, I think it would continue to provide goodwill to the SMU program. More goodwill than we are getting from all of our other NBA draft pick alums...

I am sure that he will continue his relationship with Larry and Larry will continue to help him out as he goes to the NBA. Would not be surprised at all to see him at Moody in Jan/Feb at a game or two.

Yea, definitely get your thought process here, just think you're overestimating his impact a bit...He isn't Lebron, wearing an SMU cap isn't helping our chances much with recruits, winning in the tourney will do that. I hope he is healthy and reaches full potential, just like any other athlete. No ill will, but I'm not holding my breathe on him joining Larry's recruiting trips. Just another athlete IMO. Best of luck to him though~

Except that both the Chinese basketball league and their pro soccer league have a history of not paying foreign players, and forcing you to come back to China and go through a long legal fight if you want to try to get what they owe you.

We dodged a massive bullet by him not coming here w/all of the baggage attached to him.

Are u serious? He was the best PG in the class and I still firmly believe he will be one of the top PG's in the NBA

The NCAA was in the process of releasing the hounds on him and his handlers. I wanted him here to ball, but he was a violation(s) waiting to happen. Go back and read everything from the summer.

Yep. Not ideal, but I suspect he made the right decision for him and SMU.
