Re: Good wiin against a quality Wyoming team.Very good win. Larry needs to chill on the late arriving crowd for a 6p start. It's Dallas. Get anywhere by 6p and you're doing big things. The crowd was last year good in the 2nd half.

Good wiin against a quality Wyoming team.Traffic was horrific coming from West Plano, I mean moving parking lot bad. We were seated just as Chad Morris was introduced on the jumbotron, The 2nd half felt like last year, and WYO is a solid team. We are getting better. I brought a friend from Waco (he's a Bear) and he loved Moody. Great Night!
Work commitments and a 6:00 start are HARD!
Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team.Friday night rush hour traffic made it really hard to get there early.
Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team. The truth is that well established non-wine and cheese fans get there for tip off. The crowd got a lot better but it is yet another failing of SMU's fanbase affecting the atmosphere at games. The student section was poorly attended well into the game and there is no excuse for that.
Mustangs Abu!

Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team.I love what Larry has done with this program, but he seriously needs to shut up around late arriving crowds. Especially when comparing them to Kansas. Just ridiculous. 90k people in Lawrence compared to 1 million plus in Dallas (and another 5-6 million in the metro area) is embarrassing to try to compare in terms of traffic, scheduling. And hey stop scheduling games at 6pm on Friday or just accept that TV is going to force awkward times for the in-person crowd.
Again, this is a rant mostly about comparing us to Kansas. He can express his frustration that everyone isn't at tip off. Fine. But no more asinine comparisons please.
Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team. It's amazing to me so many of the people here, who I would consider to be among the most ardent SMU fans, are totally OK with nobody being at a sporting event on time.

Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team.
It was a 6pm game. I left a meeting at 4 that kept going. I got home by 5 bc I work 50 miles from home. And I live an hour away from the stadium in rush hour. My wife and our guests did the same. We made all of the arrangements we could. They got caught in traffic and were 7 minutes late. We barely made it. We waited at the front door to hand off tickets. I ask... what else should we be expected to do?
Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team.it isn't "OK" but fire most it isn't a choice. It is like complaining that not enough people traveled to the Hawaii bowl. People have meetings, travel, in 2014 working professional wives. Add an hour drive if you have nothing to take care of before the game and then people on PF complain because you are still wearing a suit instead of driving another hour home first to change "I think Couchem is right."

Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team. This topic really frustrates me. I am a die hard SMU fan and have been to every fball and bball game. I am a working professional and I did what I could to make it to the game as early as possible. If Larry and company dont like it then stoo scheduling 6pm games during the week. Even 30 mins more would be a huge help.
Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team. You can't deliver early knockouts like we did last year when the atmosphere is mediocre.
No intimidation I realize this was Wyoming-not a big draw although undefeated- but Larry is right if we want to build that type of program. This is a pro sports town. Think a lot have people get used to that type of entertainment exhibition mentality pro sports offer. College Sports should be different. Need to adjust for the Big Games "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team.I know people can't get out of work early and people have stuff to do and there is traffic and not everybody lives close to campus. Fine.
We should still have more than 3k in their seats at tip though and I can see why LB would be upset about it. What is scary is it will be worse next year when more fans are displaced. Shake It Off Moody
Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team.I was working my [deleted] of in the lab up until 530pm at work. I hurried my [deleted] off to get to the game as soon as possible, but 75 was a disaster as always. I have to work for a living. 6pm tip-offs suck.
Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team.So what is the real root cause? Were the high profile games last year a time at 6:00 p.m. They are all scheduled late this year. I tried. I showed up ASAP and lost my voice. The real root cause in my opinion is the time scheduling. Make it 6:30 or later. Even 30 minutes would be very helpful.
Now for people showing up late and work is not the reason (or school) then you are right. No excuse. For people showing up in work clothes... I like it. Seems very SMU to be dressed like making money.
Re: Good win against a quality Wyoming team.I would be shocked if there was even 1k sitting at the tip. It was sparse at best.
