I thought staying for the playing of Varsity was a tradition at SMU. I stay every game for it and we're lucky 10% of the people who attend stay. Apparently it is only a tradition if convenient.

Me too.

I don't see what the big deal about the garage is. I'm almost always out in 10-15 minutes. Well worth sticking around to have a good view of the end and to sing Varsity and cheer the team.

So what do the leave early people do on a night like Monday? When it goes to OT do you go back to your seat and then go watch from a distance again for the final two minutes of OT?

I think people don't want to get caught in that parking garage. If you hustle you can get out in seconds. If you stroll you might be there 30-40 minutes

I'm always there until the end and it's never taken more than 15 min to get out of the garage (usually less than 5 min)

What garage do you park in? If you are in the upper levels of Moody garage you aren't getting out that fast right after the game. That's why I wait around to let it clear out

Binkley is much better than Moody. I remember parking on Airline back in the day for free and $10 tickets. Sat midcourt. Haa.

Side note: walked through that area. The "commons" medieval house symbol things comes off to me as cheeseball/juvenile. Buildings look awesome though

I know we complain about everything, but I agree. It looks like they have them on the freshman dorms too.

All of the dorms have shirts in their shield colors instead of SMU colors too.

It smacks of the Rice colleges to me, but whatever...
