i'm with Harry here. She knows the game and is usually very well prepared. I prefer her to most of the muppets we usually get.

Doris Burke is knowledgable and adds something to the broadcast. Unlike Knight, who does nothing but lecture the idiot peons in the audiance and pontificate about how good he was. Or Walton, who is either babbling about Kareem or rambling on and on about that sweat lodge expience in the Arizona desert with that shaman he knows.
If you don't like hearing a woman broadcaster for a men's college basketball game, then that says more about you than her.
How many times did we hear Knight say "you defend with your feet not your arms" over the last few seasons?

I'm a fan of Doris Burke calling games, but I am a little surprised she's calling this one.
Although it doesn't really matter to me unless it's a good enough game that I need to watch the replay when I get home.

Completely agree with this. She's not over the top. She doesn't have shtick. And she isn't sitting in that seat just because of something she's done in the past as a coach. No problem listening to her call a game (if I was listening rather than being at the game). With that being said, no clue if this is the first time she's called the prime time game or if it's happened in the past.

One of the things i dislike most when ex-coaches do color. Exactly who do they think they are "coaching" when they say things like that? They are always happy to point out kids doing things " wrong.". Stop coaching the players who already have coaches and give the viewers ( who defend with their butts in lazyboys) some strategic insight.

I'm not a fan of women announcers at all, sorry, but if any of you actually listen to her she knows her [deleted]

I agree with you Diamond M. Doris is a very good basketball commentator. She knows basketball and sticks to the game. She has done SMU games before and I think she is very balanced and fair in her comments. I, too, like her better than most of the people who have covered us this year.

Hate was a strong word. I just don't like her voice and I just prefer men announcers doing mens games - sorry. If that makes me a sexist, then so be it in this small case.
I was all for a woman ref in the NBA. I loved the "throw like a girl" ad on the Super Bowl, and as the father of a 2 year old wonderful little girl, I will always tell her she can do and be anything she wants, even if she wants to become an announcer of mens basketbal games.
But I still don't like Doris Burke's voice.

I have no problem with Burke's voice but would take Fran Drescher over that FB female announcer so I feel your pain if she grates on you.
