New money spends it, tries to look big, and tells everyone how great it is. Old money works harder to grow it and never accepts good when great is still out there. Never accept good or we will start sliding back.

Not true about old money or new money. From what has been indicated the old money is what keep June here when he should have been fired. Now the football program has suffered a major set back. Baseless analogy, unless you are part of the old money and trying to make a baseless point. I think the younger generation actually are the ones that want to improve the game presentation.

Can we please identify who is new money and who is old money on the board? That will make things much easier.

I'm no money...so I don't have a dog in this hunt. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

no money and an old person who attends every game and stays to the players leave. I thought the music was great last night. I am all for loud music that creates energy in the crowd and the players.

I do think that the DJ should play after a visiting team calls timeout to regroup. It creates a more energetic atmosphere than the band playing imo. I do like the band playing at halftime and some TV timeouts but not after an opposing team calls timeout to regroup.

Rebel is correct. If the opposing team calls a time out what we need is as much volume as possible, and the band tends to calm down the crowd unless they are doing a very loud version of Peruna.

And inserting old/new money into this conversation is about as ridiculous as I have seen on this board, which is saying a lot.

Presentation was pretty strong last night. I am all for one 7 nation a game from our sound guy - but it will get old, and kind of goofy if you tee it up more than that. If the kids feel like doing it more often, than that's great. this whole thing is for them anyway. make is as fun as we can for our students and everything else will fall in place.

If anyone saw the Kansas vs West Virginia game last night every time the opposing team called timeout to regroup the DJ played something like 7 Nation Army, Turn Down For What etc. At no time did the band play after an opposing team called timeout. The band mostly played at halftime and commercial timeouts. It was an exciting atmosphere.

I personally saw families bringing their 5 year olds to College GameDay. Im sorry but if you think a stadium filled with rowdy college kids trying to get on national television is a good place to bring your kid, you need to re- evaluate some things.

If you cant handle the loudness of the stadium, which is part of the reason we're actually good, you shouldn't show up.

The same people who complain about Moody being loud are probably the same clowns sitting there in Ford stadium wondering why we're awful.

I have never had an issue with the volume (in either direction)... but the song selection/timing has been iffy at times. Derailing the issue into a "louder is always better" crusade is counter-productive.

I definitely agree that opponents' timeouts should be handled exclusively by the DJ. The band has its place, but does very little to help (and may occasionally hurt) in those situations.

Times have changed over the years but I hear plenty of bands playing loud & good tunes that keep the crowd energized. Our Peppermint Patties play lame stuff...It's a balance. Not sure there is much DJ action in Cameron but that is an exception due to decades of greatness. We are learning how to win and haven't done anything. Each building is unique. Tulsa's game presentation was pretty lame.
