Re: Anyone have a scouting report on UCLA?
They have shooters and junk yard dogs. Good team, but we may have beter athletes
Re: Anyone have a scouting report on UCLA?
Trust me I'm with you about Isu. They play an exciting form of basketball and when they are runnig and shooting hot they look like the Phoenix Suns teams that would win 60 games a year. What happened to those sun teams in the playoffs? The consistantly lost to teams that could beat them Inside and could play transition defense.
Re: Anyone have a scouting report on UCLA?We match up well with Iowa State. Need to get past Ucla first though of course.

This. One game at a time. Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
Re: Anyone have a scouting report on UCLA?I'm embarrassed to admit I've watched little to no UCLA this year. I followed them closely while living out there but not since I moved back. My UCLA friends tell me they are not very good. They shoot a lot of threes, and Tony Parker is their best inside player but we should control the interior game. Alford's son is one of their leading scorers.
SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: Anyone have a scouting report on UCLA?I'm not embarrassed to admit I've watched almost no UCLA hoops this year. Much better ways to spend that time.
Re: Anyone have a scouting report on UCLA?We have another Hamilton family member to face. SMU faced a Hamilton and a future star at UCONN and now faces Issiac Hamilton who is a 6'4 guard for UCLA and both are from LA's Crenshaw HS.
And all that say they are terrible are out of line...they have been inconsistent over the year but are playing better late in the season and only lost by 6 to AZ in the Pac 12 Tourney---they will be a tough match up but winnable. Re: Anyone have a scouting report on UCLA?From what little I can find, they seem overall solid in rebounding. They are big time outside shooters. So far, the hot outside shooters have had great games against us and lost. Tulsa, UConn, ECU all had great games and only UConn beat us (a road game and from an unlikely player in Purvis).
I don't read where they have great interior play and depth inside. And that is our strength. I think the total disrespect for the AAC is filtering through in a lot of these predictions that UCLA will past SMU and have a great game. We are a much better team than a 6 seed and we can and should beat this team. This isn't Gonzaga, Arkansas, Indiana , Cincey, UConn or Temple.
Re: Anyone have a scouting report on UCLA?I watched them vs. UK and they scored 7 points in the first half. Looney is going to be a solid NBA player and Tony Parker is a load, but they lack depth and a pretty poor defensive team.
I don't think that the noon pst start will do them any favors (not to mention the travel). "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Anyone have a scouting report on UCLA?
That game was NOT a good indicator of their teams strengths or weaknesses though. They were flat and UK was on target...a bad game for UCLA. Watch the AZ game to see what they look like at full strength----still winnable like I said. But SMU must play good perimeter D.
Re: Anyone have a scouting report on UCLA?It's what you want, a blue blood w/a big name that is very beatable.
Re: Anyone have a scouting report on UCLA?We should win but definitely shouldn't look past anybody. This is March
