I think CU has been in the top 25 RPI wise a few times this year. Gonzaga might be ranked when we play them. Michigan will start to flirt with top 25 if they can find consistency. SVP is doing what most in national/non-AAC media markets will do. They don't actually watch the games and take crib notes like things like how many teams in conference are ranked when evaluating teams. This lets them make a decent talking point that on the face seems informed but really isn't. Pay attention to what the dedicated basketball followers say about our team and what your eyes tell you.

SVP is a good dude and Terp. He's never ever going to give small conference ball a break, b/c he only has P5 perspective. I get that the world thinks we cheated to get this record and I agree. I just don't care, nor would he if it were Maryland. hell, he recruits on behalf of the Terps and is on Kevin Planks speed dial. Maryland is in rarified air w regards to how they acquire talent right now, and SVP is part of the machine. I like the guy, but he should shut the eff up. I don't give an eff about opinions that don't come from folks who've walked a mile in our shoes.

Yeah, but SVP is a Terp (or should I say Twerp) and his Terrapins got abused by Michigan whom we ripped apart. Colorado and Stanford are more than holding their own in the PAC-12 and we slaughtered them too. Would love to be in the Big XII beating UT, Kansas, OK, OKS and others, but they won't play us.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Accept the fact that there will be disrespect this season. We are not in a power 5 conference with high ranked opponents AND we will not get to prove how good we are against those schools because we will not play in the tournament because we accepted findings/punishment associated with wrong doing.
We are now the Wichita State of the 2015 - 2016 season but won't have a chance to prove how good we are in the tourney. Maybe someone will do a 30 30 on this season high lighting the successful careers key contributors went on to achieve so we can have some satisfaction.
Respect will grow when we have success on a regular basis in the tournament, which we are positioned to do. Unfortunately, there will always be the glass half empty critics that will say they are SMU and they are cheaters, as we hold up the national championship trophy.

Problem with SVP's argument is that SMU has actually played a tougher schedule than it seems on the surface. 7 teams in the KenPom 100, 4 in the top 55, etc. They aren't a fluke.

We can only hope this team is good enough to go 31-0 and will leave people wondering what might have been. I really don't see that happening with only 7 scholarship players, but I'm enjoying the ride and that's all any of us can do. I think it's fair for Indiana people to discount an undefeated season, if it comes to that, because running the gauntlet of the NCAA Tourney is well beyond what we will face in our schedule. I agree with Coach Brown that the AAC doesn't get much respect and that we have really good teams in our conference...but you have to earn respect and until AAC teams win and advance deep into the NCAA Tourney on a consistent basis, we have to live with others disrespecting the conference. We need to all keep scheduling (and hopefully beating) P5 teams in the non-conference so we can at least have opportunities to win games on the big stage.

It's an easy out when you're lazy. Who else is unbeaten on the road?

That piece wasn't as negative as the headline indicated. It's just a trite piece of re-hashed information that adds nothing to the conversation. Gil Lebreton is a hack sports writer without an original thought to his credit. I don't know how he has kept his job all these years other than he is pretty good at kissing up to TCU.

I challenge ANY top 25 team to go play AT Temple, AT Cincy, AT UConn. Even home against those teams. I think most B12 teams would pee down their legs especially against Cincy. UConn, in fact, already beat the whorns this year (AT Texas). So eff em.

We have more national championships in the last 2 years than anybody except the ACC and we are tied. Oh and we are 4-1 against that team in those two years. #respectB!tches
