It's understandable why SMU would prefer to stay at home for its games every winter and out of any local tournaments. The Mustangs have gone national and have the most to lose of the four programs. which is why we should never entertain the idea. Hell, I'd ditch TCU too, non-conference. We only have so many games vs P5 squads and ranked opponents to make hay. Play programs that matter. Who liked being told we've played no one while 18-0? Time to really upgrade this puppy
Careful on the TCU part. They could very easily say the same about us in football. We expect to become relevant and competitive in football, and they expect to become relevant and competitive in basketball. They are P5 and we need to maintain the rivalry. You cut them off in basketball and they will cut us off in football...no question about it.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I don't think we will see any of the old Big East teams come here. I think Hoopmanx is correct. I still think we have that SWC fixation in hoops. I do hope TCU gets better because they are bringing down our RPI. Maybe we try to extend the series with Zaga/Michigan and try to add Wichita State, N. Iowa and some upper level A10 teams like VCU and Dayton.

thank you Like I said, we have numerous spots to fill in. It's not like football where we only have four non conf games per year.

Our conference really needs a good tourney. Big East/AAC challenge, etc.

if TCU can stomach us on their football schedule, especially after last year when it cost them to have a weak schedule, then I think we can make a spot for them on the basketball schedule.
Other than them - nothing gained by the Texas tourny. Now a series with Baylor or UT - that would be great fun. all those scrub little state schools can rot.
I think we could be some big east home and homes. Their arenas need good teams also - and nobody wants to play them at home either.

Don't think that will happen. Only thing we might get is a home and home with one of the Big East new teams like Butler or Creighton.

As a former BU student and Temple grad, I found it to be an interesting article, but I just want to point out to Mr. Gosselin that Temple is 29-31 H2H against Nova since 1949, and we still have the most Big 5 titles.

Mr Gosselin also said we would be crazy to fire June so there's that

We had to give them an away football game to get them to agree to a home and home with hoops Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
