Re: Houston Roll CallMy wife and I will be there
Re: Houston Roll Call
How about an SMU fan wave? Every five minutes or so. It would be pretty funny. Party at The Wopper!
Re: Houston Roll CallI sure hope to see a group of blue shirts in the crowd tonight.
Re: Houston Roll CallWhat / where is the alumni event beforehand?
Re: Houston Roll Call
Yeah, nice of them to announce this
Re: Houston Roll CallEvery time I've watched a Houston game, their arena is 25% capacity at best. I predict the coogs, will be just like every other opponent, and have their biggest and rowdiest crowd for SMU.
Re: Houston Roll Call
I agree. I know uh is having some football thing at 6 b/c my aggie niece and her uh husband are going to that before they go to the bball game.
Re: Houston Roll Call
It was in an email sent to Houston area alums last Thursday: SMU vs. Houston Happy Hour and Ticket Block! Cheer on the SMU men’s basketball team as they take on the Cougars! Join your fellow Houston alumni for a happy hour prior to the game. To purchase tickets in the SMU Alumni ticket block, click the link below and enter code SMUALUM when prompted. Monday, February 1 Dutch-treat happy hour 5:30 p.m. CT Eric's 4800 Calhoun Rd Houston, TX 77004 (Located in the lobby of the Hilton University hotel on the main University of Houston Campus) SMU vs. Houston Men’s Basketball Game Tip-off at 7 p.m. CT Hofheinz Pavilion University of Houston Houston, TX 77204
Re: Houston Roll CallEric's and the UH Hilton is across campus from Hofheinz. You'll probably want to either 1) park in the UH Hilton garage, or visitor parking, and go to the event or 2) park near the arena (probably $5-10) and walk across campus in the daylight. It's a straight shot past the library.
http://www.uh.edu/maps/ Probably quite a few students at that time of night with night classes. Crowd-wise, I'm hoping it's the second largest crowd of the year between LSU (7918) and UConn (4672). It's hard to tell how many football fans will come over after the Peach Bowl celebration. Usually not that many. Student turnout is the X-factor. We now have a very nice basketball facility but the arena is still crappy...worse than old Moody. Yes, 50 Pony fans together can make a lot of noise in Hofheinz, unlike visitors in Moody.
Re: Houston Roll Call
Ha, ha, that gave me a nice chuckle. What is everyone supposed to do when the game is over and the sun has set?
Re: Houston Roll Call
![]() I park on the other side of Yates HS for football games so my risk tolerance is fairly high.
Re: Houston Roll CallHas to be the worst road trip in the conference. Abysmal environment and arena. #Houstontakeover
Re: Houston Roll Call
Tulsa wins by a landslide. Houston people are nice
Re: Houston Roll Call
Tulsa? I always enjoy visiting Houston. It's a fun town. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
