Semi played during the fall semester of his sophomore year with Duke and transfered to SMU at the end of the semester. He could have played last season at the beginning of the spring semester but LB decided to hold him out since we had no post season. So, he actually did sit out a year and a half.

Right, but it's actually talking about eligibility REMAINING and saying he has 1.5 years of eligibility left. I had thought by sitting out both semesters last year that he was left with two full years for us (again, unless he leaves after this year)? Would he really only be able to play one semester next year?

Oh okay. I believe you're right that he still has two full years of eligibility remaining.

My understanding has always been that he arrived with two years of eligibility needing to sit for a year.

He arrived after the fall term 2013 and enrolled for the spring term 2014. That made him eligible to go at the end of the fall term 2015..... Vegas last year. LB was going to have him together with Nic, Markus and JT for the conference play and the NCAA tournament. Would have been a hell of a lineup. And Semi would have used one year of his two in half a season.

Then probation happened. LB and Semi made the decision to sit out last spring thereby gaining a full two years. For better or worse, that's what happened and that's where we are today.

No point in imagining what could have been.... that's just part of the old DP curse. Sometimes it just sucks to be us.

But that's what makes wins like that beat down last Saturday at Ford all the sweeter.

Proud to be a Pony....from Dave Smith/IT to the DP.

Are you basing your opinion on anything concrete?

Why?

I think they'll both get ample spin as Jank looks at any and all point possibilities.

Nothing concrete. Just notes I have read from practices and one guy I know who usually has solid info. He said Tom will get first crack as backup PG and Wilson has been shooting real well in practice. McDowell still needs some work on his consistency there. They will both play, but it sounds like Wilson (from what I have heard) is a little ahead.

As you said they will both get looks and PT.

I think it is the fact that Tom has a lot of international team experience that he is more comfortable this early in their careers. Both can score just Tom has more experience. Both will, play a lot imo.

First 2 games are going to be fun to watch just to see how the teams plays with so many new players we have not seen on the floor.
