I don't think that was it. I think they just missed it. Even the commentators were saying that three refs missed one call.

Once it touches the backboard, you can't touch it no matter where it is.

Haha...what the hell does this even mean? Ball already hit the backboard and trajectory was downward toward basket. Game vs. UCLA...that wasn't a goaltend. This was.
