Re: Other AAC gamesReal barn burner.
Re: Other AAC gamesTulsa wins at USF and Houston beat Wichita State to establish themselves as the "teams to beat" in the AAC. Both USF and Wichita State look like good teams so our game tonight at Cincy is important in determining whether we belong with the "haves" or the "have nots"
Re: Other AAC gamesGo figure...Temple takes down UCF today. Just when I thought UCF might be an upper echelon program in the AAC they drop to 1-3, tied with Temple.
Re: Other AAC gamesCinci game with Tulane cancelled.
Re: Other AAC gamesIn the race for 2nd place, Wichita State beat UCF in OT last night and now sits in 2nd with only 2 losses while SMU, Memphis and USF have 3 losses each
Re: Other AAC games
ECU wins 82-73 and hits 11 of 24 threes. Houston will drop like a stone in the rankings
Re: Other AAC gamesThey will drop, but don’t know if like a rock. Many top ten losses last night, but Cougar loss to ECU was shocking. So, we’ll see.
Re: Other AAC gamesI'm just assuming a P5 bias against the American. Even though I'd like to think we have a lot of very competitive teams in this league, we had so very few opportunities to play and beat P5 teams it's easy for people to think it inexcusable to lose to the likes of ECU. Too easy to dismiss one of the AAC's lower level teams (UCF) having beaten Auburn and FSU (currently in 2nd place in the mighty ACC). Who knows what is going to happen in this bizzaro year when Kentucky, with all their 4 & 5 star guys aren't even close to playing .500 ball and Duke is barely above that mark.
Re: Other AAC gamesMaybe 4 seed? Charleston was spot on about how beatable the Coogs looked. I concurred that any hot shooting team has a chance. UH seemed out of sorts and it felt like a 2 seed losing to a 15. Hopefully it doesn't happen in the tourney. SMU seemed to establish itself as the #2 team in conference and could challenge UH in the conference tournament.
Re: Other AAC gamesWichita State is up 58-57 with 3:33 left at Temple and is looking to hang close to Houston as those two teams have lost only 2 games so far this season. WSU still has to play SMU twice and Houston and Memphis once each. Memphis has to play Houston twice. Our guys just need to keep winning to stay with those 3 teams at the top of the AAC and keep post season hopes alive.
