Do not believe their statement of no other reseatings for years... I have been given 3 guarantees in a year that have all now been proven lies. Everything they say is crap.

It's a marketplace and supply / demand should take precedence.

But if they tell season ticket holders - regardless of duration - that they can't renew in the same spot at any price then you will have a seriously upset group of people. Me especially.

I've had football season tickets for 30+ years and BBall for 3 years. Yes I bought season tickets when LB was announced as HC. I'm one sorry bandwagon SOB.

if I'm told "you are moving seats and STFU " then I will catch the games on TV and cherry pick a few games off stub hub. Plus adios to my MC membership and football season tickets. I've shown loyalty to the school and the first time they have a revenue team that is good - they start pushing the long term fans around.

Mistake. I'll watch on TV. see the empty arena and wait for the "season ticket special" to arrive in the mail. Which by then I may have more of a life and will have learned to live without SMU sports. Clearly the football experience has been a whipping and I must not have much of a life to have sat through Gregg, Rossely, Cavan, Bennett, and jones.

I've been loyal. If I don't get it in return. Then sayonara.

Well said.

That's the thing. They still end up with the same amount of money that way, but with a lot fewer irritated fans.

So because I graduated Doh's last year and bought tickets Larry's first year even though I was in grad school just to support the team I'm getting screwed? Yeah that seems fair.

That is in no way fair. Considering that circumstance I hope you get special consideration.

It seems like the people who went are somewhat relaxed about this and they said the mood there was calm. Those are the people with the best information. Meanwhile people who did not go and do not know how they will be impacted are getting upset. My advice is to just wait until you get the information saying whether they are moving you and if so where. Just seems more sensible than imagining the worst case scenarios and getting upset when it might not be a big deal. But that is just me.

I'm still not clear how much the increase is for the 250 seaters like me.

Don't come on the boards with good information and expect people to listen. That's absurd.

People - like me - who didn't attend the meeting are reacting to reports from the meeting. Those reports say that the plan currently being considered is to NOT allow current season ticket holders renew ( those who have had bball tickets for less than 4 years) their current seats at ANY price.

We are reacting to what we are reading on this board. i'm posting my reaction in hopes the SID is reading this board and will understand the view of many long term fans. My hope is they will listen - that was the point of meeting anyway - and not anger long term fans to the point that they don't renew out of spite and anger.

We are an affluent fan base. We have entertainment options. Speaking for myself, if I get kicked in the privates the first time SMU has a marketable product then I know that my loyalty over the last 30+ years has been a one way street.

I read an article on Grantland recently about Stanford football. They have had a few down years ( relatively speaking - SMU fans would kill for Stanford quality team) and their attendance has suffered. The writer said that when the team is having poor seasons that Stanford fans don't call into sports shows and complain. They don't write angy e-mails to the AD.
They disappear.
That is what will happen to SMU. Anger long term fans and they will just melt away and find something else to get passionate about.
