Just back from the game.

Man that was crazy! Way to go SMU, anyone that knows, Knows we are snakebit, we lose far more many games like that than we win...Glad to finally see one go our way.

Course, should have never come to that, we dominated for 35 minutes, then tried to blow it. But J-Frog, and of course, Papa stepped up.

One thing about the Thug comments, Jacksonville's reputation preceded them, and frankly, I didn;t see it..Yes, Papa and 21 got into at the end, but the other 4 on the court was pulling him back...

Was an emotional time, if we lost like that, I would fully expect Papa to be out there starting fights...its the nature of competition.

Well played game by both teams, and Jacksonville seemd like good sports to me.

Congrats to the Ponies and the Dolphins, and lets go easy on the thug talk...

No matter how frustrated you are, you still don't refuse a handshake from the opposing coach.

FWIW, I don't think SMU needs to go crazy upgrading it's scheduling. I would love to see more games vs MVC teams, WCC teams, MWC, A10, high SoCon, that sort of high mid comp. 2 or 3 high major games and the rest reputable RPI/SOS mids. Northern Iowa fits that bill. Good times!

Sorry - but several were thugs. Would never expect SMU players to act like that under any circumstances. I think you might have seen a different game then I was watching.

Based on today, their coach obviously doesn't help teach any class or sportsmanship either.

Maybe so, but to me...just seemed like an exciting game with emotions on the edge at the end.

And yes, I did misspeak, I would be upset if Papa actually did try and fight...

We won in probably the most emotional way a team can win, I just feel compelled to be a good sport and cut them a bit of slack for being pissed.....

I'll go ahead and say that you're wrong. Three were holding him back, and one other tried to get into it after 21 was pulled off.

21 was a complete [deleted]. Ripping his jersey off and still [deleted] while he was at the scorer's table. I understand the emotion that goes into losing a game at the last second, but there's a line. A couple of their guys crossed it.

I hear that #21 for Jaxonville previously played for LSU and was kicked off their team for some sort of infraction.

another crazy/ridiculous game. --- almost a meltdown of epic proportions, worse than the UAB last year.

I hope this team has more balls next year. When it comes to crunchtime, we only have JFrog and Papa. WOW. -- chokers. Turnover extravaganza.

Northern Iowa Panthers --- http://www.unipanthers.com/sports/m-bas ... sched.html

Lost 2x to Creighton back to back

We also can't forget the way he laid into Papa on our inbounds pass with .1 second left. Dude's a thug.

You have to give some credit to Jax for really turning up the pressure - and for shooting the lights out on threes at the end.

They figured out if they pressured us we would turn it over, and they shut down the passes into Papa.

It certainly would have been an all-time self-destruction for SMU (which is saying something), but you have to give them some credit (even if they have some thugs).

The worst part of the game was the end of the first half, when we called timeout to set up a "last shot", and then turned it over twice. Thankfully they only got two points out of it.
