So what is the opposite of coddling? Beating him up? Just curious as to what people think they should do to help him get going?

It goes back to expectations, have the proper ones. He was never going to start over Russell or Manuel. He was never going to be our leading scorer. He had a rep for being lackadaisical defensively, and an offer sheet that didn't match his McD AA status. People are having a problem w/his performance cause they anointed him as some savior, when he's just another frosh, albeit w/a nice jumper

Not sure this game is due to chemistry. . . More like the 4th game in 6 days. Looked like a tired team tonight

Honestly I like Moore and brown better as freshmen. Frazier just seems... Confused. And he needs to stop standing there with his arms in the air calling for the ball like a 5th grader.

easy....he just needs time to develop and learn the system. I will say one thing, Frazier looks like an incredible teammate. He is always the first to stand up and clap, help a teammate up, the first to run on the floor during a timeout, etc. He wants it bad and I want him to succeed very much. I'll root for him no matter what.

It's one thing to struggle on the road, and another to play a team like this tight all the way to the end. Based on UCI's results thus far, you're not going to see a team like Louisville, Memphis, UCONN, Cincy struggle to grab a souble digit lead against a team like this.. I also just worry about Frazier, I don't know much about his mental approach, but he looks like he's been playing not to make mistakes, and now to be benched for the whole second half I worry he must be feeling at a loss right now..
Few of the teams you mention play games like this on the road. They dont leave home, other than neutral court tourneys until league play. We're not in that position yet, no big deal. It was a bad game but one we never trailed. Put it in perspective. It's not indicative of anything. As for Frazier, why do so many of you baby the guy. He's possibly our 4th best recruit in a 4 man class right now. Get over his high school ranking, recognize his shortcomings and pray he turns into the sniper we need.
It's basically about perception for me. I wan't freshman to believe they can come in here and compete, earn LB's trust and important minutes on the floor. I don't want them to feel afraid to make mistakes, and just from my point of view, it seems like Frazier's playing scared. Maybe I'm too in love with idea of coddling these flashy one and done players, but I'm just desperate to create an environment at SMU that's fun and cool, where young guys can come in and showcase their talent. I obviously don't want to do this at the expense of discipline and fundamentals, I just want Moody to be a place where young kids in the DFW area dream of playing in front of electric crowds. Basically I'm just scared, it's the first time in my life I can actually see the blueprint for championship quality in a major SMU program. I really do believe in what we're doing, and I just pray that trend continues upward. Screwing this up scares the living sh*t out of me.

I agree for sure. He's an awesome Passer as well, one of the best on the team.

Legit concerns, cause you're right, the handling of Frazier is going to be brought up. He's not the player the barbershop thought he'd be, at least not yet, and they are gonna try and place blame. ThAt said, we're winning and we all see his comfort level on the floor. Also, Ben Moore and sterling brown are playing well as frosh. Moreiras is the teams focal point, so it's not like we aren't integrating talented young players. This is a Keith thing right now, and we just have to hoe he rights his game

His game boiled down to not fighting over screens and giving up easy looks on multiple possessions. I'm sure they'll live w him forcing junk on o, it's kick starting the other teams comeback w bad defensive mental lapses and effort that gets him extended pine. Either way, that forced jumper really symbolizes the way I feel about a lot of his touches. He's so anxious
Hence "the shark" But really some of you need to stop freaking out. We won comfortably, on the road, after 4 games in 6 days and we never trailed. Just because it wasn't a 30 point beat down doesn't mean we played like crap, it means we're human, which I think some of you are already starting to forget, but I hope not.
I agree, the win last night is a good win on the road. I like the fact that the Mustangs never trailed in the game. 4 games in 6 days with the fourth being on the road is nothing to sneeze at. I will gladly take the win.
