Get to check out my seats for the first time. Nervous because of how high we are.

Do not worry. I am in the second to last row under the boxes - Still great seats. I sat in the corner on the last row for the LSU game and was fine with the view - Almost literally no bad seats (I think SMUsic00 posted a picture of sone next to a girder but pretty sure those weren't season ticket seats) .

The Lamar Cardinals finished last season 4-26, which was a one game improvement over the previous year. That’s why Tic Price is their new head coach. Actually Price took over on an interim basis last year and coached the last 5 games, going 1-4. Former coach Pat Knight led the Cardinals to 23 wins and an NCAA tournament berth in his first season, but the program declined rapidly after that first year and Knight was fired this past February. Very little is left of last years team, half the roster is gone, including the top two scorers from last year, who also lead the team in rebounds and assists. Price has 7 new players to mix in with a small handfull of returning lettermen. The only returning starters are Donovan Ross, a 6’5” forward who averaged 11 points and 5 rebounds last year, and Anthony Holliday, a 6’1” shooting guard who managed to start 18 games last year despite being plagued by nagging injuries all season, and averaged 6 ppg. Ross and Holliday are both seniors. Immediate help may come from another senior who had to sit out last season. Tyran Lattibeaudiere, a 6’6” forward, who transferred from Vincennes, has apparently been impressive in practice, and dominated their intersquad public scrimmage. Lattibeaudiere plays very physical in the paint and crashes the boards hard, and he may also be the teams tallest starter. Lamar has two 6’10” players on their roster, but they don’t see much playing time. Lamar’s starting five will have an average height of 6’3”. Most small teams will try to compensate with good perimeter shooting, but that may be Lamar’s weakest area, unless one of their new recruits can step up and provide a threat from 3-point range. Holliday shot just 20% from outside the arc last year and their best returning shooter, sophomore Preston Mattingly, shot 25%. So, to sum up, this team is small and cant shoot, that’s why they went 4-26 last year. All indications are that this game wont go well for Lamar, they have a lot of new players who lack experience and havent had time to develop any kind of chemistry. They’re dependant on points in the paint because they lack a perimeter threat, but they have no real size. They are facing a team that returns the bulk of last years roster, and has plenty of height, even without Markus Kennedy. New players might step up and make a difference for Lamar, but it is too early to tell. Keep an eye on Lattibeaudiere and JC transfer Lemon Gregory, Gregory is 6’10” and I think he will have to get minutes if Lamar has any hope of matching up with SMU’s frontcourt. I expect Holliday and Mattingly to take alot of shots, but not to make many.

Don Mattingly's son, Preston, is a sophomore on Lamar's team so he will be in attendance. I've also heard rumors that Clayton Kershaw will be there with him

I expect to see several dunks and a blow out. Gonzaga will be VERY tough. Will be interesting to see the line for that one. I assume the team comes back to Dallas between Zags and IU?

My guess is the Zags will be a 4 point favorite.
