Depends. We only have one very good player coming in and he is a point guard not a shooting guard like Russell. I think we will be okay. If we get Dom Matthews it would help imo.

No argument there, but I didn't really mean because of his specific skill set. Mostly just his floor presence.

Nic Moore does a great job out there, but it seems like often Nick Russell is the guy we go to when we need to "steady the ship". Long way from the guy that sometimes seemed to just be jacking up shots last year. (Not that he had nearly as many options last year... and he did seem to make a pretty reasonable percentage.)

I think we'll be just fine, because everyone else will also have another full year under their belts. And our freshmen and sophomores are already playing at a reasonably high level.

Nick needs to attack the elbows at the beginning of games. He's got a nice touch from there and I think it would get him off to a better start offensively. Not to mention it helps open space for the big guys............

No question that we'll miss his floor presence, from my perspective. I do think we'll be fine with everyone else being a year older, but I wasn't expecting that I would be as sad to see him go. Solid college player who contributes a lot of the intangibles that you need.

I really hope we honor this team during a game 5-10 years down the road, recognizing the work they did to lift our presence in Dallas and nationally. And I hope Nick and Shawn are a huge part of that.

Anybody else notice the high number of soft passes we threw last night? It seemed like there were both some that resulted in easy steals and some that just resulted in a scramble and took us out of our (admittedly already weak) flow. I just didn't feel like we attacked much on offense last night. And yes, I saw the alleyoop a few really great interior passing possessions. We need to put a bit more zip in it…..and only one backdoor as I recall?

UH was ready for the backdoor-just like they had an answer for Kennedy's inside moves. I know UH's coach gets a lot of criticism but they were prepared for us defensively.
