I have a theory about SMU athletics. I've been following for about 25 years (I know, not much to cheer about). However, the one common thread through all of it is how "soft" our athletes are (we saw that about 4-5 times in just this last half where a 6'11" guy not only got his shot blocked, but CAUGHT by a 6'6" guy). 6'10" guy gingerly lays up the ball over a much shorter guy and is so slow the guy behinds him just swats it (throw it down!), same 6'10" guy tries to take a charge from a small guard but too [deleted] to just stand there and take the contact when he should have sent the guys ball to pluto). Football, basketball, all the same. We rarely have any truly nasty guys who will dunk on you and put your face in their nuts. Or, in football, a guy who will just knock the EFF out of you and stand over you with pure joy in their eyes (I think the closest player to ever get to that level was T Reed, who actually got neutered a bit for being so). So, here's my theory: SMU's country club like setting just makes guys soft. The hot chicks, the beautiful campus, the money. It just makes guys less hungry and thus more soft. And therein lies the problem.

Ok, I've entertained myself now for most of the half. Thank you for the therapeutic outlet.

have a bad feeling that this might be the game that we don't come back. They are really schooling us on 3's and desire.

Don't be too [deleted] us. Clemson has been recruiting high level athletes for many more years than SMU. We will catch them soon enough.

Possibly, although if you think like is at all 'tough' at a football factory like Florida State for example, you would be way wrong. Those schools have the plushest setup ever for their athletes. Live in an all-athlete dorm, stumble downstairs for your personally made breakfast, hit up the athlete 'lounge' or lockerroom in between classes (classes..yeah right) to play some Madden, etc

Not sure what you were doing to entertain yourself because there wasn't a whole lot about that half that was entertaining. Probably some things are better left unknown...

Shawn Williams guarding McDaniels. Nowhere near enough foot speed. Interesting call.

Keep feeding MK. I don't care how boring it gets. Keep doing it. Either he'll get fouled or they will figure it out and we pass out of it and find Nic Moore or if someone else can heat up from 3.
