Exactly. Every team has a bad game. Survive and get ready for Houston. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 17: SMU vs. TULANE ThreadKind of glad to see Nic have an off night. It happens, and he picked the right time for it to occur. Now he can light up Houston.

Could also be: There, fans suck. Derail the Frogs!
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 17: SMU vs. TULANE Thread
Nic had a tough day today starting with a matchup against a much bigger guy (not that he doesn't usually face that challenge). Early foul trouble and then once he got back in, he took some head shots late in the game. That was a very physical game and I'm just glad he got through it and lead us to another W. Hope Tulane's big man didn't tear an Achilles there towards the end of the game.

I heard that one. But overrated also made an appearance a few times. Derail the Frogs!
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 17: SMU vs. TULANE ThreadFunny how our expectations change in 3 years. We are all disappointed in how we played, but we win on the road, stay undefeated, stay top ten, cover, and win by 15.
The guys stayed composed even when things weren't going very well. Fought thru it and won convincingly. Good times. An atheist is a guy who watches a Notre Dame-SMU football game and
doesn't care who wins. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower

Cougar trolls? Just send 'da money.
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 17: SMU vs. TULANE ThreadNice job by the SMU fans in second half to make some noise. Team applauded the sections after the game.
That is the worst I've seen us play since the AAC tourney game two years ago. Painful to watch. ![]()
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 17: SMU vs. TULANE ThreadWe didn't play great but our big problem was missing inside shots. We had a close to 10 minute run of no scoring. Its a wonder Tulane didn't open lead then but they weren't showing well either. Team was flat off when it came to passing. They just were not in sync. Still, they push it up a notch when they needed and pulled away. Interestingly, the student section was basically all guys. Its rush (or recruitment) at Tulane so all the girls are at the society houses.
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 17: SMU vs. TULANE ThreadEveryone but JT and MK just looked out of sorts and out of sync for most of the game. But hey, it looked as if Tulane had a decent game plan and executed well at times, but we got the win in the end with some solid playing when it mattered. An ugly win, but any win on the road is a good win.
I do question the intelligence of the Tulane fans and the "overrated" chant towards the end of the first half when they were still losing. I wonder at what point playing with just 7 guys finally catches us up with us from a a fatigue factor? I hope it's a while!
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 17: SMU vs. TULANE ThreadJT played ok but missing all his FTs including a FT airball tells you something was not in sync today.

Re: OFFICIAL GAME 17: SMU vs. TULANE Thread
Cincy's D was better...they clogged the passing lanes unlike any other D we've seen so far this year. Tulane's D performed fine...but I attribute today's performance moreso to unforced turnovers and sloppy play by our guys, than I do to great D.
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 17: SMU vs. TULANE ThreadA good team would have beaten SMU today and it was my pleasure to inform the most vocal
of their, not there, not they're fans of that fact. Party at The Wopper!
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 17: SMU vs. TULANE ThreadBy my calculations Tulane shot 25% ON DUNK ATTEMPTS.

Their fans tried so hard...and failed even harder. We owned that arena/field house/Perkins wannabe.
