PonyDoh wrote: Your comment about Pats doesn't do him justice as a prospect.. He's a legit 3 star kid w/a highly defined group of skills. Had we not placed him at CCCC, and he just matriculated, he'd have been hugely recruited. CCCCs staff thinks he's a Big 12 level talent.
Let's hope Doh doesn't change his shooting form like he did Harps.........

I will not be going to any more basketball games. As someone posted earlier - it is not fun. Doh is a con man, and he should be ashamed of what he has done. When he first arrived he was too quick to take credit for coaching up Ike and Killen......and now - what has he done with the players he recruited? It is a joke that he claims to have found a "system" now. I didn't realize that in the Princeton offense the PG could take the ball from one end to end and jack up shots. Essentially doh's teams play whatever the other team wants to play.

just reading the DMN article today in full. perhaps more annoying than Doh's comments, Orsini pipes in with a sound bite, spin-tastic comment about Doh having to show improvement and as a past national coach of the year he is confident he will. Give up the sound bites. He's been here 4 years and no one is buying the natty coach of the year crapola. Doh is obviously coming back and the spin is sickening to the people that really care about the program.

I had trouble maintaining interest in all but 2 games this season while watching on All Access. Hate to admit that most of the time I was bored and upset watching what was happening or not happening. I must have been a gluton for punishment as I would keep hoping and watching trying to be supportive, but things never were good other than the Memphis game. If I lived proximate to SMU I could not fathom buying season tickets based on the status of the current program. I would simply regret the waste of my time going to games let alone leaving so many games disappointed, upset and without hope that progress was evident and eminent. I could easily tolerate the costs if I thought the program were making progress; however, I do not see progress in the coaching or recruiting.

I will not be spending another penny on SMU Bball as long as Doh is the coach. SMU has blown $2 mil on Doh already for 4 consecutive losing seasons and 0 CUSA tourney wins, I would personally feel like a fool to contribute to the insanity with my hard earned money. The games aren't fun. The product is poor. Moody is a morgue. And more often then not we lose. Its not even close to a fun night out, bottom line.

THAT is so right on and no one mentions that. The same damn crappy hot dogs, popcorn and pretzels for so many years. Give me a break...sooooo boring and uneventful. Someone pleeease get creative with the concessions ( at the football games as well for that matter), it may help somewhat for the bad games. ....ok so maybe not.

lots of whining over 14-17. Grown men canceling tix and tons melodrama. Doesn't matter who is coaching w/o a PG.

Another problem I have with Doh. His roster mgmt has been terrible. A roster full of 5'10, 5'11, 6'0 SGs. Not a true PG on the roster since he's been here. Poor job of recruiting the 6'4 to 6'6 SG/wings that can put the ball in the hole. Poor recruiting= 14, 10, 9, & 14 win seasons & nobody in their right mind should be happy with that kind of crap record.

A) It's not 14-17...its 47-75 overall and 17-47 in CUSA over 4 years. 28 and 30 games under .500 is deserving of taking a stand/canceling tickets instead of watching a poor product and poor coach B) And whose responsibility is it to get that PG?!? Poor recruiting= 14, 10, 9, & 14 win seasons & nobody in their right mind should be happy with that kind of crap record.
EXACTLY!

Buncha drama queens Went to 4 games this year, UAB, Memphis ,Houston, and Marshall. Only Marshall, and the last 2 minutes of UAB was not fun, and a little disappointing.
May the forth be with us.

Reading this thread is depressing catch 22 - hard to recruit when nobody shows up Memphis and Houston were fun games. Houston we played out of our heads.

No doubt, agree w/all of it. That doesn't change the fact that it almost always was going to be 5 years though, no matter what. We resigned ourselves to that, or should have, quite some time ago. This isn't the position that wants to get the quick trigger label, unless we're going to drop several mil on a coach. Ultimately, I don't control who coaches, and I'll be here after this staff, and probably the next few as well, so all I care about is how to get better personnel now

Depresses me too. Catch 22 applies to football as well. Remarkable that Jones can do what he does. Reminds me of the Pony Express days when I was stunned we could recruit blue chips with our lousy [deleted] attendance.
I need to join some secret beer drinking club, as I have been drinking too much alone after watching our basketball team. I drive down from Plano, so I can't drink enough before the games to ease the pain.
