Future MustangsModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Future MustangsManuel is putting up some serious #'s against outstanding competition. Harrison is the #3 rated player in the state, & St. John's bound. Yesterday's game recap is below.
AUSTIN 70, DULLES 58 Austin was in the game anyway but took advantage of Dulles' D'Angelo Harrison sitting on the bench for the game's final nine minutes. The Bulldogs (12-11, 2-4) led by two points at the end of the third quarter then stretched the lead midway through the fourth. Harrison made a jump shot late in the third quarter then was called for a technical foul after saying something to an Austin player. Harrison, who scored 19 points, came out of the game and did not go back in. Ryan Manuel led Austin with 35 points and four assists, and Richard Ekeke had 14 points and 17 rebounds. Austin Spitzenberger scored 11 points. Daniel Redeaux led Dulles (18-7, 2-4) with 21 points and 13 rebounds, and Jason Palfreyman scored 11 points. "We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."
Re: Future MustangsManuel's stock is through the roof right now. Its not easy putting Harrison down like that.
I wish we had just one more ship, and for a minute I was thinking we would w/Jfrog, but that kid is hanging tough, even shining. Maybe Merg would walk-on lol “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Re: Re: Future Mustangs
I'd go
Re: Future MustangsRyan is the man of his team...they are not a very good HS team and rely on him to do the scoring, and score he does. They would not have won this game if Harrison had played the 4th quarter.
Re: Future Mustangs
No more Cheikh Mbodji talk, lol. "We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."
Re: Future Mustangs
They lead the entire game, after every quarter, and Ryan had 21 at half. Manuel got in Harrisons head “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Re: Future Mustangs
The 7 footer that Norman is playing against is Cheikh Ndiaye, the # 1 ranked center prospect in the country for 2013. "We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."
Re: Future MustangsThat is some bad high school basketball...
Anyone in chi-town Feb 19th...city suburban shootout Simeon vs my Alma mater Benet...#1 vs #2
Re: Future Mustangs
Thats a lucky game then as they are 1-4 in conference play, 13-13 for all and they recently lost to Ft Bend Travis 80-31 and a few others really badly as well...they are NOT a good team. Harrison was probably personally embarrased that his team was losing to Ryans squad, and not by Ryan personally.
Re: Future MustangsManuel did not play in the game against Ft. Bend Travis. That explains the huge loss. He sat that game out due to an injury over the weekend. He played inthe game against Harrison although he was not 100%. They may have still lost to Travis (being that Ft. Bend Travis is D1 loaded and Ft. Bend Austin is not), but it certainly would not have been by 49 pts. had he played.
Re: Future Mustangs
Umm, Ryan has been out w/injury for a chunk of those losses. Harrison was just outplayed by Ryan “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Re: Future MustangsEarlier in the sason not late in the season he was hurt and read my post...he is a big part of the team but he has no help.
Re: Future Mustangs
No one is claiming they are a world beater, but he missed games early and as late as last week. Kid is putting up huge numbers playing on a bad wheel “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Re: Future MustangsHe was hurt earlier but this was another injury last weekend. From what I was understand, his high school coach made the decision to not play him against Ft. bend Travis. The guy knows the Manuel has a future with the Stangs and didn't want to risk further injury in a game they probably had no chance of winning.
Re: Future MustangsI'm going to see Cunningham on Feb 15th at Lamar vs N. Crowley with SMU gear on. Who is in?
