Re: So this is what it feels like
another junk reference. Everybody drink!
Re: So this is what it feels like
That is what it is all about. Lets keep winning! An atheist is a guy who watches a Notre Dame-SMU football game and
doesn't care who wins. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower
Re: So this is what it feels likeHow big was today towards Dia's legend/all-time great status at SMU? His senior year is comparable w/anything we've seen, and you can't script a better ending to possibly his last game at Moody.
Re: So this is what it feels likeHow nervous was everybody with him on the line? talk about pressure. he was very emotional after the games. kudos to him and all the rest of the seniors.

I knew he could make 1 and felt confident after the ORU OT. "This is . . . dedication to distraction by fans. Is that what I'm going to go with Jay?"

Re: So this is what it feels likeI wish I could say the same; with all his misses earlier, I was very nervous - maybe more nervous than Dia was, the way he finished them off. He really wanted to keep the season going with those free throws.

Re: So this is what it feels likeIn a way it was quite fitting. You want to play another game? Make your free throws.
I think at that point everybody knew overtime was not going to be a good thing for SMU. The first one was obviously the big one. Once he hit that one, I felt good about the second. Still - SMU only shot 56.3% from the line today - ridiculous... Shake It Off Moody
So this is what it feels like
Indeed I was referring to being able to enjoy a continuing season on Paddy's Day. And after the win today, which was as exciting as I've seen at SMU, I'm feeling even more lucky! If people don't want to enjoy this CIT tournament as much as possible that's their problem. Some might have been playing golf, but some were at Moody watching our team with a great sense of pride. Mustangs Abu!
So this is what it feels like
okay, so does that mean i do speak for mustangsabu? "This is . . . dedication to distraction by fans. Is that what I'm going to go with Jay?"

Re: So this is what it feels likeSome choose to respect wins versus D3s and NAIAs...I dont. Some wanna give a participation medal to every kid that plays...I dont. If that makes me an old fool...so be it.
I didnt like it in 96 when Dement introduced the Mustangs to cupcake OOC just to get Ws. A packed house watching Kansas/Arkansas/OSU drub SMU was better to me. Remember Rocky 3? There was more honor in a beat down to Clubber (and subsequently conquering the beast) than 6 title defenses against pansies. Im happy for Pap...he deserves it. Great kid...great story. But lets not get carried away and put him with the alltime greats. Mike Wilson battling in the SWC for 2nd team is still a bigger feat. IMO. If that makes me crazy...so be it. You got 68 teams in the big dance...and 32(?) in the NIT. Thats the top 3rd...if you cant make that...season over. It must be for the faithful 500 that showed up at the big postseason game.
Re: So this is what it feels likehoopmanx...get real....CIT will NOT elevate / cement Dia in any way, bro....seriously. Really?
Re: So this is what it feels likeThen help me understand why you're acknowledging what Dia did after you fired off that the NCAA and NIT are the only tournaments that counts.
According to your logic, since the CBI and CIT tournaments are not legit, then SMU really didn't play any games this past Wednesday and Saturday. The season really ended on March 8 in El Paso. Here's some real talk for you -- AT NO TIME HAVE WE SAID THIS WAS THE BEST THING IN THE HISTORY OF EVER. I THINK MANY OF US ARE JUST LOOKING AT THIS AS A CHANCE FOR THE PROGRAM TO PLAY A COUPLE OF MORE GAMES. OH, AND BY THE WAY WE HAPPEN TO BE COMPETING FOR SOMETHING. Of course, you also think the FAB 5 was the cultural new wave -- whatever!! Should we have refused to play in this when the idea was broached? I guess you think we should have. I guess Mr. Orsini and Dr. Turner didn't. And I guess the kids shouldn't have been excited that they played a game. Your old school attitude is tiresome. You probably were happier when the NCAA tournament was 32 teams or 48. Funny how you had to move the line to 68. Spare me your superiority bullshift. I don't flying you know what of how many showed up and how many didn't. You can take your attitude and SHOVE IT!!
Re: So this is what it feels likeyawn.....time for bed...dreaming of Papa Dia's elevated starts based on his CIT performance...HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
