Me too. Looks like they've removed all of the offices to expand the corridors.

Most of the offices have been vacant for some time now - except for some temporary set ups. Just about everybody moved to Ford or Crum. Get out the sledge hammers.

Is the meatball room gone too? No more meatballs? I might not renew.

well, we know it will be decreased, as confirmed in this article:

The top floor would feature ten suites while the other floors will house office space and a club lounge. The project will include bowl seating with a designated courtside student section. The priority seating will be increase though overall seating would decrease from the current capacity of 8,998.

from the artist's rendering, looks like they are taking it down to somewhere in 5-6,000 range. Might regret it later, but serves us pretty well for the vast majority of games

Honestly, I can't imagine we'd go that low. I know we don't draw sh*t right now, but a Coliseum with capacity that small would seem to be a detractor for a long list of reasons. A couple off the top of my head:

Large social events or speeches

Graduation

AQ inclusion

Post-season tournaments (??)

Recruiting purposes.

5-6K just seems small time to me. It doesn't inspire "elite" or imposing, or a place where a blue-chip would want to go. I know we are a LONG way away from that, but this doesn't seem like Ford, where you can just "fill in" the horseshoe and magically 15K more seats appear. You have a finite amount of space, and have to plan for the future.

I imagine it can't be lower than 7500 or so.

I believe it is projected to be in the 7300 to 7600 range. They would like not to go below 7500.

anything in the 7000 plus range with suites and the club/lounge looks good to me; wonder what the plan is for students? I would imagine behind the hoops like so many other places, but would be nice to have some courtside presence

This is a much needed renovation. Really excited as the initial renderings look first class! Can't wait to see the future of SMU basketball...we are definitely trending up.

with no more students than we had at most games, you could put a futon courtside and they would be very comfortable.
