I think that he has agreed to take the job with a basic salary understanding - details TBD. The choice of assistants might be part of the terms and thus the need to delay to allow them to work out their deals.

Not worried.

I have two degrees, one from SMU and one from Illinois.
Jerrance Howard is a great hire (if the reports are true). Why Groce didn't keep him will forever be a mystery.

A source close to Brown told Katz that Jankovich is waiting to get a written contract that guarantees he would be the next head coach after the 71-year-old Brown's departure. Brown did say he has no timetable, is healthy and would coach as long as possible. That's why Jankovich would need assurances that he would be the next head coach even if that was three or four years away since he has a good job and a potential Missouri Valley title team returning.

It's not a done deal even after the ink is dry. The involved parties need to all show up. Once that happens we can evaluate the deal.

I too am enjoying the Orsini sainthood movement. We've been the laughing stock of the collegiate world for the past few weeks and many of you want become an ostrich. I wish my wife forgave incompetence this easily.
