The recruiting accusations didn't take long, did it?

My point was never in opposition to that. My point is that faulty call/text logging is more of a lack of organization thing rather than the stuff that is implied by people calling a program dirty. Penalties from violating rules on texts that are going away is a far cry from pay for play which is what people imply with no basis.

only the same text stuff Doh got stuck with.

I understand your argument, but just to clarify this a bit: Doh sent 107 impermissible text messages. The Baylor program (mens + womens) sent over 2,000. I don't know the breakdown of that, and it may have been mostly the women's program, but there is a difference in scale there.

I don't think anyone here is implying pay for play. It's no secret that Scott Drew treads near that line of what is against the rules and what isn't, but that's not suggesting anything about pay for play.

Actually, I was fine with the NCAA ruling. It was a response to Cox's reckless comment. I would just hope that he had the information to back it up.

I don't like the title of this. It states we have had recruiting accusations and that is not true yet.

we certainly had more and we received more penalties.

That said a very heavy percentage of these were simple stuff like calling and being sent to voicemail counts and the staff thought it didn't. Mulkey talking to a hs coach friend even though we werent recruiting his daughter was responsible for several as well. It really was a situation where we stumbled into unintentional violations. Also ours was over three years and multiple sports. When it is less than 2% of calls over that time period and so much is dumv stuff... it ceases to be a dirty thing and becomes a stupidity thing.

Drew is very aggressive within the rules. He runs right up to the line but does not intentionally cross it. Match that with an aw shucks gosh darnit happy go lucky Christian persons and it is easy to understand how he rubs coaches the wrong way.

I don't want to derail the thread though. I hope Brown does well at SMU but I expect the smear attempts to come with that success.

Looks like a good staff. You guys have a lot to be excited about.

i think most of us consider texting to be pretty minor, but given the NCAA's continued focus on this, you would think it's something programs would want to get right. if you can't get the little things right, what would lead you to believe you get the big ones right?
