Yup, things really have changed

This country club crap is why no one wants to come and cheer at our games. It's completely unappealing to the non SMU sports fan.

It's supposed to be fun people. I don't know about y'all, but I don't go to sporting events to sit nice a quietly and issue the occasional gold clap when someone gives a nice effort.

Seriously? Our student section is finally being rowdy and talking trash and you didn't like their potty mouths so you told them to stop?

It really depends on what it was. If you're calling their cheerleaders b-tches and hoes then maybe dial that back. If you're just going F*** you F*** you F*** you F*** you F*** you F*** you, then maybe not. (While it may be earned by TCU, we should play nice in public) The stuff that the band yells attempts to be clever over rude.

Example: Playing ECU my freshman brother got the player to give a WTF look over at us because he yelled "WHAT'S THE CAPITOL OF EAST CAROLINA?" Then she missed.

Nothing was that aggressive, good lord. "BS chant" was the only consistent and loud chant. One guy tried to start a "needle [deleted]" chant. I yelled lets f'ing go a lot. Sorry for being passionate.

This is what comes with a student section folks. Pick one or the other. I know you haven't had us in the past, but we are here now, it seems like either way you are going to dislike us.

This used to drive me nuts about FC Dallas games as well. Look, you either get family friendly or you get sports fans. I have two young kids, and when I take them to sporting events it is with the understanding they are probably going to hear some things that aren't said around the house. Believe it or not, we have survived so far.

That said, what matters most is being clever. I don't care if people swear, just be funny about it.

Exactly. I trust the band members to come up with something clever. "You effin deush stick" on its own does nothing. Seasoned players can shrug that right off. (Misspelled for filter )
