Let's discuss UCF. Certainly out of the next 3, this one worries me the most since it's an away game and a pretty early game.

I think they could give us some trouble, since they seem to be a good rebounding team, and we don't have YM. I think they struggle in other areas. Curious what the line will be, but I would think we would be favored by 4-7 points.

It was Carl Wright that made the shot. It was from about 30 feet out with a couple of seconds left on the clock. Too bad the 3 point shot wasn't in effect yet. Watched the whole game and was a nervous wreck when it was over. Have pulled against Georgetown ever since.

Sherrington is guy somewhere between friend and acquantaince who I've been working on for years. He's never budged in his pessimism towards SMU. For him to call SMU a final four "darkhorse" is a sign of the apocalypse.

Yep, I was a nervous wreck as well that game. I don't think either team ever was ahead by more than 4 points. Koncak played Patrick Ewing very tough that game. In a Shot clock and 3 point era, we win that game, no question.

I seriously can't believe this thread is even existent. I thought I was going to get run off the board 3 weeks ago when I mentioned the tourney... this makes my day. I'm glad people are excited. I just hope they don't play OSU in the tourney because I don't want to root against em.

People here are so used to getting teased with minor success. I think we have finally embraced the winning and damn it feels good.

We're grabbing drinks when I get down to Dallas here. Seem like a good dude and fun to watch some ball with. I might have to go to a few tourney games for SMU if they get there. But it's a crapshoot on where they will land if they're not a top 5 seed. I think top 4 are protected but even then, you can get bumped by a better team in your area.

a lot of hoops to be played, but let's get this road win at UCF to solidify SMU as an "upper level" AAC team and see how the season plays out. We are going to need to sweep some teams and be really tough to beat at Moody. Need those "quality" wins to get at-large consideration, which means beating Cincy, Louisville, Memphis & UConn (check) at Moody. Let's get to the AAC Tourney with a winning conference record and see what happens there. For the 1st time in a long time, we have SERIOUS depth which is critical come tourney time

That loss still haunts me. We should have won that game. Ewing beat Larry Davis on a Free Throw rebound to win it IIRC. So close and we just end up being another W on their tournament record.
